Does this - in regards to just front and back screws plus double sided tape - apply to the OEM ZR1 skirts ? If so, then maybe that's what I'll do.

For my black on black Z06, do people think the OEMs are good choice? I'm not going to change front splitter, and I'm not into carbon fiber, and I don't want to spend a lot of money, and I want it to look good.

I would imagine so, I have not looked at OEM ZR1 side skirts, but have installed 3 sets of the RPI ones.
The side of the side skit pushes up against the rocker panel, that is where the double sided body molding tape would go. The front screws up underneath, and the rear flap is inside the rear wheel well, and then the skirt attached to the bottom of the rear flap.

TKOGTO;

Powder coated by Mike the Powder Coater. Have a set of Pfadt JOC bars going on that were powder coated the same color.

Mike does great work...

I've got a set of RPI's on my base and only issue if you want to call it that is occasionally my foot hits them getting in or out. Nothing big though. I wrapped mine w/matte black 3M. If the wrap gets beat up just rewrap. No issues with clearance so far and I'm lowered on stock bolts with cut bushings. Front splitter is in box in garage awaiting install.

I've had them since '09, and have survived 2 road trips MA to CA, 2 road trips MA to KY&TN, 2 road trips MA to FL, 1 road trip to WI, and annual treks to Corvettes at Carlisle, all without incident to the side skirts.

Going to add them to recently purchased 427 vert, too.

biggest pblm is scraping on driveways and curbs or un-even parking ramps...the other thing is the splash guard on the rear wheel well gets beat up with road debris and will eventually wear out and have pits in it,,also the front area edge of the skirts on the front wheel well gets a beating too with road debris...thats for the DD cars...if your car is for car shows only then you will be ok..also you will hit them with your leg as you enter and exit your car until you get used too having them....i made my own side skirts and wrapped them with CF vinyl,,working on a year and still good, but do have pits on my splash guard...

I have some in the mail, purchased off of FleaBay. Didn't get the high buck ones, instead settled for the fiberglass type for $300 plus shipping.

I'm not going so much for looks, although I do like the visual affect. I'm hoping to cut down the amount of stone damage to the side of the car.

I'll add pics of my GS Centennial after they are painted a installed....

Love mine... As mentioned, the only 'issue' is having to remember they are there when getting in and out. First time I saw a couple of cars with them installed I had to have them, as they make such a dramatic visual impact.

I got a Arctic White base C6. I really want to do something with the front. Would you recommend painted or just going with flat black?

The downside is in the looks. It always looks like SUV or van running boards which have no place on a Corvette. But it looks like I might be in the minority on that opinion.

So, you guys disagree with what Chevrolet deems appropriate for the corvette?

I called them "running boards" once and could not believe the flack I received. You, sjohnson2615, deserve to have your fob batts go dead for using such a vile term!

You can call them anything you want; just don't use mine to rest your shoe(s) on while you bend down to retie your laces.

Of course I do. I don't think brand loyalty goes so far as we are required to like everything General Motors puts out. I disagreed with the Aztek being "appropriate" for sale also, among other less than stellar offerings and ideas from General Motors.
We can't hit a home run every time.

On the topic of skirts, what are the differences between the C6 coupe vs the GS/06/ZR1 I know theyre different but how much is the question. I've seen a few manufacturer's claiming that their skirts will fit all models.

For all those C6 standard coupe owners with side skirts what brand/style did you buy and does anyone have front splash guards as well?

I'm trying to find some carbon fiber parts front zr-1 style splitter and side skirts for my standard c6.
