What calipers can I run on a c6?
Are there any other brake options besides the z06 setup or a more expensive BBK?
I severely dislike the go kart calipers GM put on the base c6, (despite their impressive performance for what they are), but I want to throw something bigger on there. I do not track the car so I am not after performance, rather I just want something that looks more refined and bigger.
You can pick up a set of huge CTS-V calipers for pretty cheap, or even the base calipers that come on the new camaro's would look better once powdercoated.. but since it hasn't really been done I figure it won't work for some reason.
Do I have any options here other than just going for the z06 setup?

You can go as big as the rims/spacers (and fenders) will allow you, but seem counter productive to drop thousands in brake upgrades that your never going to use.

The original calipers are already about as big as will fit under the stock wheels (in the front). Loading on extra unsprung weight when no added braking performance is needed seems to me to be unproductive.

I'm not concerned about the fitment as I'm running rims that will clear them and I know you can go with the Wilwood setup but aren't they more expensive than the z06 at $3,000+ for front and rear? I'm trying to find something that would let me run bigger calipers but not spend more than $2,000.
I know there probably won't be much news on it for awhile but I'm interested to see if the base c7's brakes can be bolted up to a c6 seeing as they are much improved. Not sure how much they are though.

There are 2 Wilwood kits. I also went that route after looking into the Z 06 brake set up after I heard several bad stories about them. Wilwoods will also require new rotors and larger wheels. I don't know if spacers will work. The front and rear kits are around $3600 total which seemed to me the best compromise. Baer and Brake Tech are at least $1000 more. Just depends on what you are looking for looks or performance. I love the Wilwoods and they bolt right up. hey have done a great job with their kit.

It's hard to argue against the Wilwoods from a pure value standpoint.
You can do 'caliper kit's which then use either stock or alternate brand stock sized rotors....lower costs, cheap replacements, simple fit.
OR..you can go the full big brake route. Full means 2pc hats and rotors, available cross drilled/slotted finish as well as an assortment of caliper models to choose from based upon the application (intended use) and the size (disc diameter) for wheel fit.
You can find all the info on various options with fit info and more on the C6 CORVETTE page.
Full four wheel kits, to the door can be had for about $2700 and four wheel caliper kits for nearly a grand less than that.
I know a lot of folks like the swap this and that plan- and that's cool too. But if you want proven plug and play options with no further mods etc. I'd suggest sticking to the mainstream options.

Looked for a W4A rear caliper kit that fits the stock C6 Z51 rear rotor as stated above (in blue) and didn't see anything. Is this option available? Thanks for any help.

The rear W4A Caliper Kit fits the 13.4 (J55) or 14" Z06 FRONT rotor. Installed on the rear. The ideal fit however is the smaller 13.4" in my opinion.
If you are looking to use the same W series caliper this is the only choice for a Caliper Kit @ roughly $1800. The other option is to go to a full 4X Kit with hats/rotor and the whole shebang for about $3200. Both of those options are listed on the C6 Corvette Page.
The W4A will not work with the stock rear rotors simply due to packaging.
On the other hand....you can use the 13.4" Z06 REAR rotor with a FNSL4 rear Caliper Kit as listed on the C5 Corvette Page for about $1700. The FNSL4 is of course a different caliper and pad but the same piston area as running the front rotor on the rear. The reason again is packaging- the FNSL4 fits the rear parking brake rotor.
All that for $1705 (projected current price) makes for a helluva deal for those who want to keep oe rotor use. If you're interested in such a format please let me know. I've been side tracked by a ton of custom work the past few weeks and have not yet finalized this combo. We might be able to work a bit of a deal.

I had to use spacers on the front and rear. 3mm on rear, 5mm on front for a perfect fit.
