My dad had a SOHIO station back then and I worked some weekends for him. I still like the smell of gasoline.

My dad and grandfather owned an American (that became Amoco, and now BP brand) gas station at Bailey's Crossroads in Virginia back in the early 60's. That was when they sold Atlas tires and gave away dishes with gas purchases. I worked there one summer, and I'll never forget it. I have some framed pictures taken around 1963 or so of the station and my dad and grandfather. May scan them and post when I have time.

Great pictures....I pumped gas as a lad in the late 60's for 20 cents a gallon...I remember when the quantity counter moved faster than the dollar counter lol...



I didn't know they has gasohol back then either..
