Gas mileage
In general, what kind of gas mileage do you guys usually get in your C6 commuting?
According to the in-dash gage, my 2013 C6 coupe (auto) is getting around an average of 21 MPG. My one-way commute is about 20 miles with most of that on the 5 fwy towards LA. Not much in the way of traffic, but not open enough to get on the throttle. Average speed is around 65-80 mph highway and normal city speeds when moving from light to light. When cruising along the RPM never goes above 1800-2000. In fact it usually stays around 1500. But, after a week of driving I check to see and the guage says my average MPG is around 21.1? How are people reporting to achieve 30+ MPG? Is there something I am doing wrong or some setting that is off by default that I need to engage?

30+ MPG has to only be on the interstate, and probably for some older model C6s.
Best I ever got was 27.5 to 28.0 MPG on the interstate at 75 MPH, and that was for my 06 coupe.
My 012 gets about 25 MPG on the interstate, but only about 15 MPG in town. I'm only averaging about 20 MPG overall.

My '05 A4 with an LS2 averaged 18.5, with an LS3, it now averages 21.5 ( a pleasant surprise). My '09 Z06 averages 18.5. That's just the general driving I do--it doesn't seem to vary, no matter if I'm conscious of not lead-footing it, or not. On long road trips, I usually will average 5-6 mpg higher.
On the hwy, my Z will get 33, on the level at 80mph. My '05 gets the same, but at 70 mph. The problem is that not too many roads are level and let you do 80 for any length of time.

I did a "Best Effort" two years ago, controlled cruising mid day over a 90 mile run and got 34 and a tad, but that was not realistic (65 MPH on cruise control, cool day, no A/C, windows up).

My 09 vert w/z51 gets 26.5 mpg highway on a long trip stopping only for gas. Toolin' around town I get 19-20 mpg. I don't drive it hard but I don't baby it either. The gage tells me I get a couple mpg more that reality.

My 2013 GS with 6 manual gets around 12-14 city and around 24 on the highway. I have gotten 28-30 in some cases on the highway but that was babying it at around 55-60 mph.

The overall average for my 2008 A6 was 25.95 mpg. Measured from 3480 miles to 37,995 miles.
My 2013 GS M6 only got about 20mpg on the first tank. Second tank is getting a little better.

Alright, that does not make me feel as bad. I was thinking I am getting 21.1 while everyone else is getting close to 30 MPG. I guess this just tells me I need to move someplace where I have further to drive to get anywhere. That way the average will get better.

50 'SPM' ….."smiles per mile" , I've owned Vettes for 38 years, never once worried or cared about 'mpg'

Are you checking at the pump or relying on the DIC?
My '08 roadster, LS3 w/Z51 and NPP, gets around 28.5-29 hwy and around 25.5 in town.
The DIC reports about 2 mpg low.

I've been checking fuel economy in cars and airplanes for over 50 years, and it always checks out. Sorry if your mileage may vary.

MPG depends mostly on the drivers foot.
My 03 C5 6sp was far better than my 13 C6. I got 31 to 33 on the highway at 75 mph. I would get 21 around town.
My 13 C6 6sp I did get 29.4 once, but usually 27 on the highway at 75. In town usually around 19.
But I love my C6 over my C5!
