My Corvette!
Well at the beginning of middle school my dad told me he'd buy me a new car if I got all of my college paid for. I worked hard over the years, getting good grades and doing everything that goes with that. Well now I am currently a senior in high school and will be attending either the United States Naval or Air Force Academy this summer (haven't yet made the decision). If you're unaware, attending a service academy is totally paid for and worth an estimated $400,000. Because of this, I reminded my father of what he told me and thankfully he's a man of his word. He has been a Corvette fan for a long time and I guess that rubbed off on me over the years. So naturally I didn't want to settle for a Mustang or Camaro but wanted GM's flagship. We are a fortunate family that God has blessed financially however a brand new Corvette was a little out of the question (Which I understand but I guess a C7 would have been pretty sweet). So after a few weeks of looking around I found this 2007 Lemans Blue C6! We agreed to purchase it but because of poor weather in the mid-west as well as credit union issues it took as about 2 weeks to get it home. It was the longest wait of my life and I spent all of my down time on here learning everything that I could. However, we finally went and picked it up and the car is parked and covered in the barn. I have never been more excited or thankful in my entire life! I can't wait for everything to warm up and enjoy cruising in the Great American Sports Car!

I too just took ownership of my first Corvette.

What a dad, Corvette has the first car, and remember Air Force, we fly when we deploy, unless you like ships.
Whatever your choice is, just have fun.

Congrats, I don't think you can have a car at an academy until the third year. My son attended the Air Force Academy for two years and left at the two year mark due to health problems (fully recovered). Any academy is a great place to attend. I vote Air Force, those mountain roads around Colorado Springs are awesome. (Also I was in the Air Force and the Air Force guys usually sleep in a bed each night )

Congrats to both You and Your Family, Looks like a Great car for your first Vette but over the years they seem to multiply to 2 or 3. Anticipation is a Great feeling, we have all been there.

I love to hear stories like this from the younger generation. Well done! I've achieve a comfortable life since I got out of the USAF. The military is a good stepping stone or career. Good luck to you.
