Default A question for C6 owners............

So has the wide body version of the C7 changed anyone's opinion? I have to admit I have been luke warm to the Stingray, never had that I have to have one feeling.

That all changed after I seen the new Z06. I think the wide body version is what the C7 should have looked like from the beginning, it looks awesome. I never could understand why (when the vast majority of people that were buying C6's preferred the wide body look) they went to a narrow looking model with the Stingray.

Too bad the price tag is out of my league I sure hope in a few years they come out with a more reasonable priced Grand Sport type model. Until then, its the obsolete C6 for me.

So has the Z06 converted any of you?

Well I was almost converted before the C7 Z06. Now I am totally converted. Like you I hope they come out with a lower priced/hp version of the wide body C7.

Till then I will enjoy my C6. It still puts a big smile on my face each and every time I go for a drive.

That's the reason we got our 2011 GS. Love the wide body!! However people like different choices.

I like both versions of the C7 the more I see them I more I like them. As for the Z version love the look and the power. Depending on the final price I may get one when they come out.

Forgive me guys but with all this talk about "wide bodies" I am almost embarassed to admit that I do not know what a wide body is. Could someone explain it and perhaps attach pictures of both versions?

I never saw a Corvette I didn't like (from the factory, I mean ).

I would really love to own a C7Z06, but it will take a lottery win to do so! My SO said "why don't you sell yours and buy one?" Not selling my C6s. Going to buy lottery tickets and pray.

The GS, Z06,and ZR1 have flared fenders to accommodate the wider tires they have.

It's here because the question is posed to C6 owners, who own a C6 and may not hang out in the C7 forum

Although I loved the look of the C7 it was not enough to make me want one, I still loved the look of mine better. UNTIL, I saw the C7 Z06, that pushed me over the edge and I will probably look at getting one in white.

Anyone want to buy mine??

My opinion stays the same. I think the C7 in narrow or wide body is a good looking car... they just don't say "I'm a Corvette" to me.

...and they look better in dark colors.

I think it looks awesome but I would really like a C7R in my garage. I think its cool that they are offering the Z07 in an automatic for those who commute allot in congested areas like me. I think it will certainly drive up sales in those markets. Sorry to go off topic.

If they just did the wide body on the base car, people on the forum would still be asking when the wide body is coming out.

I have never really had too many issues with the exterior so I'm loving the new Z06. The issue I have is it's the same interior dimensions and I feel it's smaller than my car and for sure is for the passenger side. I know...I know...many people think I'm crazy.

For now seeing how I don't have $100,000 laying around I will stick with my wide booty GS

Isn't that a rendering? That Z06 picture I posted was directly from the press launch yesterday, just doesn't look like your picture (at least to me).

I guess what appeals to me most about the C7 is the technical advancements GM has made. I really would like to experience driving one.
But seeing that I am nearing retirement, (10 years) I need to save my pennies, and stay debt free.

But to answer your question...yes, it has changed my opinion on the looks of the C7.

I'll just have to remain satisfied with my wide C6 GS.
