Default C7 Steering Wheel on C6

Kinda weird question but I wonder if the C7 Steering wheel would be a direct fit for the C6. I know the C7's diameter is smaller but figured i'd raise the question.

I can't help you, but the museum has a picture of the new Z06 steering wheel with a flat bottom. If it appeals to you, you might want to wait to see if it fits.

Don't know if it will bolt on, but the airbag and other controls will probably be an issue. Let us know what you find out

Just personal opinion, but that C7 steering wheel is the ugliest I've ever seen.

The smaller diameter might be nice, but I'd need to drive with my eyes closed so I couldn't see the steering wheel.

Besides that would be a poser-ish move...be proud of the C6 you have...don't put C7 parts on it...might as well throw a stingray badge on while you're at it...not trying to be a d##khead but I just don't want to see a fellow vette owner make a bad move...peace and love to all...

I actually like it. Much better than the same design in a cobalt and malibu

I suggest you go with an aftermarket wheel setup:

The only problem with aftermarket like Caravaggio is the diameter- it doesn't change. I wish someone made a smaller diameter wheel that would take the OE steering controls/airbag.

I wouldn't lower myself and put a screw from a C7 on my '13GS.

Well so far you got no answers but a lot of opinions. I like the wheel and was thinking the same thing a couple of weeks ago. Keep the thread up maybe someone will give you the answer. I put a 2012 GS wheel on my car.

I looked at both at Carlisle this fall the C7 shaft is smaller than the C6 so short answer no it will not

I believe I saw a post here about two months back where someone did just that. Put a C7 steering wheel on a C6 but can't give you an absolute yes.

GL.

C6 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019

I always love threads like this where someone wants to make their car different by using parts from a different year or generation Vette. Usually stuff from the same generation will swap, but rarely otherwise. I respect the ones who have the guts to try it and especially those who tried and failed, but let others know the problems encountered.

I wish someone had tried to swap out a 6L80 for a 6L90, rather than simply saying it's too long. Now that the C7 started out with the A6 and switched to the A8, it seems fairly likely that someone will try that swap into a C6 car. Century and RPM, are you listening?

I think the steering wheel that came on the 05's are better looking than the newer C6 or the C7 ones.
