So, I made a video showcasing my corvette if anything but for the passion we all have for our cars. Just a fun personal project. Huge kuddos if you can connect the car and the song.
If you have any questions about how I made it, feel free to ask!
Enjoy.

The length for a commercial would be perfect...cause it made me want more...so I went back to watch it again. Isn't that what every marketing guru would tell you...make them want more!!!
If GM's change to the styling of the C7 was to get the younger folks interested in the Vette and get that median age of 56 lower for who buys it....just have them watch this video! This kind of video is EXACTLY what the younger potential buyer needs to see to get them to think CORVETTE!

Capturing the exhaust note at high speeds is difficult without the right gear. Anything attached to the car will be unusable because the vibration will throw off the low end. GoPro's sound terrible even sitting on a desk in a perfectly sound isolated room. I used an external audio recorder, the Zoom H4N, which has two onboard stereo mics. I didn't have a wind screen so I stuffed it in a mic pouch which could pass for one. Even wedged behind the passenger seat I STILL had wind noise around ~90mph and faster. Think I just need one of those impenetrable wind screens, but those are normally only made in a shotgun mic form factor.

Thanks guys I'm honored you think I'd be up to the task
So everything was shot on a Canon C100 with three lenses: 24-70 2.8L, 24-105 4.0L, and a 85mm 1.8. In terms of grip I used a normal manfrotto tripod setup, the Philip Bloom Pocket Dolly, and the KC Lite 8.0 crane for all the jib like/crane movements. And outside of the GoPro, that's it!

I get good audio from my sony nexvg30, but I need to test different location relative to exhaust.
Keep up the good work

Great job on the video!
That was the first song I played as I was driving my new Corvette away from the dealer back in Oct. of '07! Yes, I'm a big Miami Vice fan.

I like the Phil Collins song... I'm sure you know he wrote this during a Divorce.
I was there and I saw what you did
Saw it with my own two eyes
So you can wipe off that grin
I know where you've been
It's all been a pack of lies...
Easy to spot a song written from the heart. Caught my (now X) Wife with her Boyfriend back in June (2013). The Divorce was Final on o1/06/2014 so the song means a lot to me but it works with the video. Thanks for posting!
