I made 3 small cosmetic modifications to my 08 coupe, opinions ?

The first is a set of pedal "covers" that I saw on fleabay for buy it now $24.98, they have a logo that says BULLY.

I have always thought the oem pedals looked cheesey, and I accept the fact that some might think these look cheesey, opinions ?

I took the black plastic door handles off to wrap them with the cf wrap that is already on my car. I think it looks cleaner without them, and the door opening module looks sealed/waterproof.

Am I running any risk to leave the platic trim part off ?

Finally, I mounted my nitrous bottle, not hiding it.

Pedals look like they belong on a pickup truck, just rather beefy looking. Maybe it is just the close up view. I think it comes down to the larger size of the counterbore. Akeen to diamond plate look.

I have a diamond plate aluminum box for a mobile RF amplifier. So I understand the Look.

Door handle trim is a new one on me too...undecided. Looks more organic and fluid for sure. I think I dig the look. But I am the guy that put the GM checklet BACK on.

My head is getting so big I cant get through the doorway,

I was totally prepared for the responses to be scathing, I had my asbestos fire suit laid out and ready.

It must just be the holidays that has everybody so cheery, but so far thats like 99.72% positive remarks.

Boomer111, I hear ya, on the diamond plate look, I agree, its partly due to the close up location and the other thing is I didnt spend any time searching for pedals,(Im sure there are lots of cooler looking pedals, carbon fiber, billet, billet with rubber inserts, etc. but I just clicked on the "buy it now" and figured $25 was pretty cheap. Sadly, the vendor was out of the lime green pedals with lights,(Im serious that they were out but Im kidding about wanting them).

I have just always hated the pedals in the Generals hottest car, to me they are horrible and anything is better.

Like everybody else, except Vet4Les who wised up 8 years ago, I stumbled on the handles not being needed. it was only after I removed them and shut the doors that I thought, I think they arent needed. I was thinking people "shave" the door handles to get a cleaner look, ( I would like it if our doors popped open with a button on the fob).

Thanks Dennis, there were about 500 cars at the track last night, it was about 59 degrees which is about as cold as it gets here, there was a C6 that may give you a run for your money, it went 8.50@155. Everybody was ooing and ahhing and I said,"No big deal, I know a guy with a blue C6 thats just as fast, he just lives about 1,000 miles away." PS: Howards shop is nice ! Big, clean, well organized and full of fast cars. You may have noticed the stickers and Howard treated me great, I'll go back PPS: Whats your tag mean ?

Id like to ask another question. I may have overdone the carbon fiber wrap but I really think it makes the car unique. One of the last things I did the other day is cover/blackout the side marker lights with the cf wrap.

Is this against the law ? Do I risk someone coming at me at a right angle not seeing me ? Should I stop with the cf wrap ?

So far, Ive done;

the hood
the targa
the hoop,
top half mirrors
the gas door
the emblems
3rd brake light
side markers
a pillars
wiper arms
sill plates
door release pods

thinking about the nitrous bottle

Whether they are illegal or not really depends on your state laws. I just bought the color matched side markers with LEDs because I hate the Orange side marker with the red paint. I saw a vid on youtube were a z51 owner actually used smoked lens spray paint. Of course it was not close up but it looked good on the vid.

One thing that strikes me as funny is on all the other sites I belong to, if you don't mod they get on you. On Vette sites it seem to be the opposite.

I look at it this way. When I bought my house, I made a bunch of changes to my liking (most people do) and I do the same with my vehicles. Guys that want to leave their Vette stock is fine with me but I will always mod. After all it's my dime.

If it were mine I'd take all that off. But it's yours, not mine, and if you like it that's what matters.

If it's not real CF, like my APR front splitter and rear diffuser, it's just poser cheesy IMO.

Looks like the pedals would make it easier to heel toe.

1rusty1, I agree with you 100%, but who has time to read more than 1 forum ?

Steve_R, its absolutely fake as fake can be ! I also have about $500 in the whole cf wrap subject, that would have cost about $20,000 in real cf, I saw a ZL1 Camaro with every detachable part replaced with cf, the girl said she had a LOT of money in it. Plus I can take it off in an hour if the new buyuer doesnt like it or I can change it tomorrow, from 5' away I cant tell the difference, IMHO Just my .02

fourarmo, I dont road race but they ware about 25% bigger all around so I think it would help.

Nice job. I've never seen the handles removed. Was it hard to do? Love the nitrous. That mother must pull like a mule. How big is the shot? Is the car stable when you press the nitrous button and let her rip? Dry or wet shot?

HaHa true but they were forums I belonged to when I owned other cars/trucks.

From the photos, I think your vet looks great! I really like what you have done with it.
