Default Most fun road course track in Cali?

Which is the best/most fun track in California in your opinion? I've been to Auto Club Speedway in Fontana which was ridiculously fun but I was a track virgin so of course it was great ...I wanna start planning my next track day...any opinions would be great. PS: I'm really close to Willow Springs (25 mins) so if you've been there how was it? Thanks.

My track experience is all racing motorcycles.

If you want to go FAST, Willow Springs (big track) will give you that; If you get turn 8 right it's a religious experience (6th gear wide open on a bike).

Laguna Seca has the cork screw; nothing else resembles that experience.

Thunder Hill up in Northern CA is fun because it is very challenging; difficult to link together so many turns and get it right.

For me though, none are better than Infineon (Sears Point). It has every type of turn, lots of elevation changes, and great pavement. It can be a bit dangerous in places (I guess more so for bike than cars).

Yes. I did not mention it because it's nowhere near the quality of the others. It can be cheaper to get time on though.

I heard Willow Springs is pretty run down, are you saying it's one of the better tracks as far as quality? If so that's good news for me being that it's so close to me. Thanks.

While it's not a sanctioned track, hiway one between Rockport and Leggett CA is one of the most demanding 'tracks' I've been on. Elevation changes, dozens of corners if not more. Tree lined two lane all the way and fun in either direction!

Willow Springs is a bit sparse regarding accommodations, but it's not horrible. Obviously any tracks that host Pro level races (ie Laguna Seca, etc) will be much nicer. Willow Springs is pretty smooth with no major imperfections. At the exit of turn 9 is a rut next to the apex....drop a wheel off and you'll regret it. If you decide to go off-road, then it can get a bit sketchy....lots of rocks, soft soil, ruts, etc.

The Streets of Willow is relatively slow speed, with lots of turns. It keeps you pretty busy and is entertaining. It can be run clockwise or counter-clockwise.

I like both of the Willow Springs tracks better than ACS. When I lived in the midwest, I did my fair share of tracks that used part of the oval and had the rest of the track on the infield. More risk to hit a tire wall or concrete barrier with no added reward.

IMO, if you're 25 minutes from WS, you really should go there next.

If I were visiting California, it would be to do Laguna Seca. I would likely hit Infineon too just because.

Of all the tracks I've driven AutoClub Speedway ("roval") is still my favorite. Nothing like doing 160+ MPH on the front straight and the Gs you pull in 1/2 are very fun.
