Default A sad moment

I dropped off my vette yesterday to get serviced at the dealer. It felt horribly walking away. The good news is that I'm getting a new harmonic balancer .

You have a very valid point! My condolences to you and your vette. I just found out I'll be getting her back the day after Christmas.

Happy holidays to you as well!!

Me too.

The funny thing is that when I drop my corvette off for service, my mechanic is as equally filled with GLEE as I am with SADNESS.

That's exactly what happened with the mechanic as well! All we can do is wait unfortunately.

Hey SN4,

I am glad that everything is being covered by your warranty!

Let us know how she drives when you get her back today.

I hope you had a great holiday,

Kelly J.

I received my vette yesterday! She drives great!

I had a lot of work done on it: replaced the crankshaft, bearings, all engine seals and gaskets, and a new harmonic balancer, with oil and coolant change of course!

Best of all,

It only costed me nothing!

Great service at Connel Chevrolet in Costa Mesa through Maxx Mayo.

Dammm!! I've never heard of a crankshaft and bearings needing replacement due to a bad balancer. You really are lucky you had that warranty still going.

Yeah, apparently the tool wasn't able to take out the bolt since it may have been stripped. I don't know what the cause was, but just glad it was fixed! I'm so glad I decided to take her in when I did!

powertrain: 5 yrs or 100,000 miles (whichever comes first) from the original delivery date.

You're right, but I believe it's when the first owner first registers the car as "new". Mine ends in April since that's when it for registered 5 years ago (late in the model year even though it was assembled in October).
