Finally Eyeballed a C7 and . . .

Melting Slicks
While I like the C7, for some reason the seats are bit tight for me... not sure why but that's a show stopper for me.... I'm still not totally sold on the rear yet either..... my 13 GS is still more than fine for me...

Edit: Just saw others had the same observation. So much for thinking how clever I was.

having owned a C5 I didn't like the C6 look right away. Then I had a chance to get into a C6 Z06. I was of the mind that they should always have flip up head lights. Now after 8 years I really don't know what all the fuss was about. The C7 is a different car. Everyone has some dislike about it. But after a few years it will be just another Beauty in the long line of Corvettes.

First Year Fears
Came time to make one last move (as I will be retiring in a couple of years) and chose between a 2012 C6 GS Conv with just about everything or a 1LT or 2LT 2014......the tipping point was the collective hassles I've had with the few first year/new edition cars I've bought, including a 2005 C6 that had everything go wrong with it that the new C6 was notorious for...now a (beautiful) C7 with enough new layers of electronics, hydraulics, etc. to run a space program.......went 2012.....

My vette is totally paid for, runs and looks great, and is a joy to own and drive. Why would I even think of spending $30,000 to $40,000, plus my car to upgrade?...just to drive a C7? I don't think so.

From C5 to C7
I love both cars. The C5 with its elegant, graceful lines and the C7 with its edgy design. Even when the C7 is parked it gives an impression of movement.
It took a short time to adjust to the seat and the ride attributes. The gas pedal has a heavier feel and the initial pickup feels a bit slow. Then, all cylinders kick in, wow. It handles beautifully.
Trunk space appears less than the C5. The design of the rear window reduces the field of vision as compared to the C5.
Yes, I paid list price.

C7 rear is not that bad. But then never like the C6. The lights
were too big. Just a huge slab of body colored plastic. At least
they finally put a break of textures in there. Always thought
the C4, early ones, were one of the ugliest corvettes made
both interior and exterior. Well my C6's rear reminds me of
a C4. My C5 was nice.
Why not trading for a C7. Just don't want to spend $76,400 +TTL
for a new convertible. Know my C6 would bring nothing on
a trade, to put a dent in that price, even with 9,000 miles.
If go out in morning and find a differential fluid leak or
transmission. I might consider a 7, but more than likely a
new Silverado or F150 would takes its place.
For the C7 price, its still says cheap chevy in many areas.
Right now its the second coming for some of those guys.
Once the new wears off, the chevy will start to show.

I think you guys are BLIND. The C7 is a BEAUTIFUL car. Especially, as a convertible. And, when they stop GOUGING and you can make a deal....I'm getting one. And, OP, "Not a massive upgrade" are you kidding???? It is a TOTALLY different car. Only 1 part was carried over from the C6. A totally different engine....Manual gear box and this January a new 8 speed auto. I've driven one .... it is a BEAST. Google YOU TUBE and see what it does stock to stock against the C6.
I realize everyone is entitled to their opinion....and I just expressed mine.
