Most of you are missing the gist of the post, this isn't to secure a firearm while in the vehicle driving, it is to secure it while he goes to places that it is prohibited to carry one. Sometimes, for example you are going to court, or a Police station, a sporting event, a School....

Good information. BTW, get out of the habit of calling it a "weapon." Never use this term; it is a firearm. Lawyers love "weapons".......

Totally agree with your choice. I have a couple for my various handguns from Crossbreed. Supertuck, Minituck and Microtuck versions.

Crime happens in nice areas as well a few years ago there was a Car Jacking at one of the nicest malls in NJ. Sadly getting a CCW in NJ is near impossible.

in our classes in tennessee we are taught not to use the gun without fear of deadly force and most cases not to use it at all. Permit holders here are well trained. I will say my instructor has the highest rated course in the state.
If have not been through a course then you might make your statement.

our instructor who has the best rating for his course in tennessee said when pepper spray is appropriate use it regardless of your carry.

Personally i would rather carry in the center console or the door. I don't want to have to depend on anything with a lock of any type opening if i need the gun. I've got a ruger lcp .380 and it's small enough to go anywhere. My 2 cents.
if you went through our class here in tennessee you wouldn't have to say that:d

Did you all read about this story?
http://tbo.com/list/columns-tjackson...land-20140112/

basically guy is pulled over for no good reason and practically stripped searched in front of his family as the cops look for a concealed gun that is at home in florida in a gun safe.
in our state once you have a carry permit and they look up your license number they know you have a carry permit. Once you renew your license it shows on the new drivers license.

I ordered a small safe, 10"L. x 7"W. X 2 1/2"D. $350, i wrapped it in SCOTCHPRINT Personalized Vehicle Graphics - On Demand Carbon FiberTextured material. The exact same material my 2008 C6, hood, targa top, halo, mirrors and spoiler are wrapped with. The material was left over from the vette wrap day.

The beauty of this safe is it opens with your finger or thumbprint !!!!

You program it, like any login procedure to identify the finger, yours, your wife, etc. It has batteries inside but if they fail, there is a transformer that plugs in thru a small hole in the case and a key lock,(the depressed area below the fingerprint reader is where the key lock is).

There are four holes visible when you open it and that is how you secure it to the interior, I mounted mine behind the passenger seat, any flat surface will do.

. It holds my Glock 29, a spare clip, my concealed weapon permit, my wallet and phone,(the Glock is a subcompact so theres lots of room).

I have always searched for a better place to put my gun when Im going into the post office, grocery store, BANK, etc.

If carrying a handgun is legal where you live, great way to secure it in your vette.

I'm a retired federal LEO. Although it's been nearly a year since I updated it (been unsettled, moving around) I run a website and blog.
Here's a link to a blog post that might interest a few of the non-gunnies here.
