Creative / Inexpensive ways to dress up Wheels?
As I'm about to get new tires all around, not ready to dish out for new wheels as well (yet). Have been looking at different options for trying to dress up my C6 base non-chrome wheels - wheelbands, plasti dip, wheel spoke inserts? Wondering if anyone has done any of these with their base C6 wheels, and if they have pics, or other ideas, or highly recommended budget wheels that will last?

im not a fan of chrome wheels, i ditched my chrome zr1 replicas to go with the comp grey cups. if not i would have plasti dipped the chrome ones. great thing is later you can always peel off plasti dip no harm done. had mike the powder coater do my calipers and brackets lemans blue. used hi-temp flat black on my rotors and added steel braided brake lines when i changed th ewheels.

How long will the plastidip last ? how durable ?
OP harmonyp,
Wheelbands:
You sorta threw wheelbands in there, most prob don't what they are.
Have you seen the wheel bands on a vette ? I saw 2-3 different ones, mostly marketed in the EU, England, Germany, etc. The most expensive had had clips and was red, you can get yellow, green, etc.
A little cheesier is the led tire valve light, but the wheelbands look interesting.
What do you know about those options ?

My interest is piqued since I'd like to get rid of my chrome wheels, however it's not happening any time soon.
Is there a brand/type of platidip that is recommended?
Is this hard for a DIY at home project?
Thanks for your help. If I can end up with black wheels for less than $100 that would be great.

EDIT: O yeah, you asked how difficult it is. It's VERY easy. Much easier than regular spray paint. The best way is to pull the rims. Clean the surface carefully. Then apply a light coat and allow to thoroughly dry. This is like a primer. Then spray light coats over and over giving about 10 mins between coats. That evens out the finish. Let it dry overnight and add some synthetic polish. Don't worry about over spray on the tires. This comes off very easily.
