Default budget c6 long tube header install?

are there any long tube headers that bolt up to the stock system or does one have to install headers and x/h pipe? not sure what the stock exhaust size so just looking to see what those of you that have completed a budget install have done.
thanks

you have to get a matching mid pipe and header system. there are so offshore systems out there, some have had fitment & quality issues, and there is used. look in the for sale section, you should be able to find something. if you go new, I would suggest you look into something like texas speed or save up for the larger company units, kooks, pfadt, american racing .... either will work and fit great.

I bought a C7 so I had a few well actually probably quite a few left over parts.

$750.00 Prefer local pick up buyer pays shipping if shipped
American Racing Headers - 1 3/4"
Fit 05 to 2008 I had them on my 2008 LS3 but will fit LS2 as well. Will not fit 2009 and up.

$450 If shipped Add $10.00 via UPS
Valentine 1 Radar detector with Dashtronix DIC and HUD interface

$10 if shipped $10 via UPS
Velocity Yellow door pulls

$30 if shipped $10 via UPS
Velocity Yellow license plate bracket (factory but painted Velocity yellow) This is the factory bracket that mounts to the front bumper. I suppose you could 3M tape it if you wanted.

$275 Kicker CVT with Sub box for non convertible.

I have quite a bit more at the shop and some DSV blemished products too. I'll list later.

I got my OBX headers and catless mids for $769 shipped brand new.

They fit perfectly, don't leak, and went just as fast as the other options that cost double.

If I were made of money, I would go Pfadt.

I paid $750. for my stainless catted OBX longtubes that have perfect fit, finish and beautiful welds.they make as much hp as anything out there and with the money I saved on them it paid for my new ported Fast 102.for the same money as other headers out there I ended up making twice as much hp.picked up 60 rwhp

that much RWHP on headers alone with NOTHING else….two words come to mind…..'BS' !

back to the Op's question, if you're doing long tubes , the only way to go that makes sense is high flow cats / X pipe along with aftermarket mufflers(if not already NPP equipped). Combine that with an improved CAI and appropriate dyno tune

I dont think aftermarket mufflers are going to really add much if at all maybe 5-10hp TOPS. I think npp claims +5-6HP.
Someone the other day in a thread mentioned that there is one brand of headers that dont require the matching x-pipe. They even worked with the stock h-pipe....the name is really slipping my mind right now if anyone else knows. Does Borla make long tubes?

Also, texasspeed makes there own headers out of nice stainless. Those are around the same price as the OBX. May be worth looking into if your gunna stay under a grand.

We may be asking questions later. 60 rwhp is with ported Fast 102 and OBX headers with high flow catted x-pipe through factory non npp mufflers.

I'm going to go with Texas-speed or the OBX, I just want cats on mine, because I don't want the noise.
If I had F.U. money I'd go with PDAFT.

You have to either run a shorty header, or you have to get a complete long tube system with a mid pipe. The shorty headers don't offer the same significant gains as a long tube system, so you might want to investigate both options and weigh the pros/cons.

cheap headers are just that CHEAP go with a good brand made well with good materials. you bought a vette cuz you wanted badass why put cheap azz parts on it.

i love my Pfadt headers. great gains over the 4 into headers i removed extremely well made and fit like a glove. with the v bands the x pipe is super easy to remove for a service and reinstall.

plus i dont like giving my $$ to china anymore than i absolutely have to.

Appreciate the bump, I had 3 different headers on my car, ( I won't mention names). And of the 3 different headers the American Racing Headers I'm selling out performed one set by 30hp and the other set by 18hp. I was putting down 473 RWHP with ARH's and ran factory exhaust system and sounded amazing even before the cam.

1 3/4 are going to suite your needs better providing good low and mid range power while still making a decent peak power.

You won't notice a difference. It will be extremely small, albeit a difference.

really depends on what your future plans are. If you plan a big build then go with 1 7/8th if you're going to stay on the milder side then 1 3/4 is probably more your speed
