Default Dead battery - Cant get door open

Well, for the first time, the batt went dead on my 2013 427 vert. I opened the trunk with the key, but when I pull the release, the door only opens the first "click" but not all the way. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I want to get the charger plugged into the lighter but can't get to it!! Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks.

The trunk latch should do the trick... Maybe try pulling a little harder? Or have someone catch the door when you pull the latch to make sure it doesn't shut on itself.

Default Know any midgets ?

How about getting a small person to crawl through the rear hatch entry into the front seat area ( very carefully without their shoes on ) . Sit in the drivers or passengers seat and pull the door release handle on the inside door frame .

I wanna say that the same thing happened to me once. I just ended up pulling the release a little harder, and I think that I even positioned myself where I could grab the door and the release at the same time.

Don't forget to hook the negative to the frame/block.

I had to do what Airbrush Inc. did and pull on the door and release cable at the same time. Since you have a vert. there is no way you can get into the front of the car from the trunk, but, if for some reason you stop the car and the electric door catch won't work the release handle is on the left below the door.

If the battery is dead using the lighter socket charger will take days. Even a two amp. charger can take a day. Do you know why the battery was dead?

again

Pull the release in the trunk while pulling on the door handle at the same time. It usually doesn't pop open itself... it needs a little help.

I don't own a 427 vert, but isn't the battery in the trunk like the Z06?

This just happened to me in October. I opened the trunk with the key, carefully climbed in and opened the door with the lever next to the driver seat and charged it up with the battery tender I bought with the car.

Why not? The OP only needs enough power to get the BCM up and running. Yes, it would take days to get a full charge with a Battery Tender Jr. but 15 minutes ought to be plenty to get enough power to start the BCM and pop the door solenoid. The door will open long before you have enough power to turn the engine over with the starter.

Will the starter not crank over when you connect power to it? I use to test starters out of the car by just connecting battery cable to it. If a trickle charger is able get the door open and not crank the starter that is fine but a booster pak or a battery will have enough power.
