I was thinking about it but how would you seal up the hole and not worry about any part of the seal coming loose and getting sucked into the engine.
I bought a LS7 on ebay for $35, question solved.

Put a cap on it
I was thinking leave a 2" piece of the extension that connects to the resonator on the oem airbox, cut it of smooth, go home depot, find a abs plastic cap like a plumbing fitting, or drain line cap, use GOOP and fit it over the extension/hole.
Nothing can get sucked in if you use a cap.

That Helmholtz resonator is there for a reason. It enhances performance. Why would you want to cut it off? I am just curious, not being combative.

I offered one of the members here $65 for one and he turned me down, so off to ebay I went at almost half my offer. Why is it that a lot of people think that their old Junk parts are Golden? I buy most of my stuff from ebay because of that.

The two things that GM is always trying to remove from the Corvette are weight and cost. If the resonator wasn't doing some good, they would certainly delete it.

It's there to reduce noise.Others on here have taken them off in the past.I'd just cover the hole with duct tape for now until you come up with a solution for the hole. I think you can pry it off actually.

It's interesting because the LS3 assembly with the resonator is cheaper to buy than the LS7 without the resonator. As far as I know the parts are identical except for the resonator - you pay more for less on the LS7 part. I guess there's not only a Corvette Tax but also a Z06 Tax on top of that.
