Default Does your XM still work after cancelling?

I've had XM in my car since I bought it in 2009. Since I added the PAL interface, I don't use XM anymore so I cancelled it 8 months ago. Strange thing is that it's still working , even though they aren't billing me anymore. Asked another friend with an 08 C6 vert and he has the same situation. Cancelled a few years ago and it's still working! Is this common?

Just as long as you are looking at your credit card statement and you see no charge you are getting it for free. Many have including me forgot I gave them a CC # when buying the first intro deal and got a couple full price automatic renewals out of me...they have it in writing on their signup agreement but many miss that automatic renewal part.

Enjoy it while you can!

Someday you open your mail and get a $2,000 bill. I hate that company.

Could it be that you're just getting the free stations that XM is offering for the year end promotion? Believe it's currently running thru the first week in Dec.

No, I have XM in other vehicles so I know it well. All the stations have been working all along.

My friend and I both installed PAL (which plugs into the XM box) before cancelling. Maybe a bug in the PAL software? Who knows.

Generally they I feel they are pretty scandalous.

I cancelled recently for the C6. Two minutes after getting off of the phone, they called back, asking for my 18 year old daughter, pressing her to 'pick up' my account.

I hate that company.

Holiday promotion -

You will notice that not all stations are not there.
I think they exclude the ones you like the most.
They are like the mob - they just suck you right back in.

Another possibility is that a previous owner bought a "lifetime subscription" I did that on our 04 Escalade for $400. I think it's allot more now. they wanted over 700 for my 08 CTS, so i declined it.

Yep, that's probably the reason you're getting it free.

If that's the case then XM owns me a refund for the last 4 years of payments!

Seriously, XM didn't work on this car when I bought it on 09, I had to add it to my plan and activate it.

I cancelled XM radio on my subaru. It worked until I had to disconnect the battery to hook up a wire for the hitch. I'm guessing the radio checks once when it's powered up, and then keeps the setting until the battery is disconnected again... So don't disconnect your battery.

Don't know. I never listened to it before and I don't now.
