A young 20 something blonde asked if my car had a v6 or v8. She told she didn't like the v6 corvettes as much. I still took her out for a date after educating her

I went through the local McDonald's drive thru and the kid said, "is that the new one"
As already stated most people don't have a clue when it comes to cars and I man all cars, not just Corvette's, so I normally take it with a grain of salt.

On a bumper sticker: Corvettes are for Senior Citizens.
As for questions, I don't mind, because at least it means that people are interested. Minivan drivers probably don't get many questions of any kind. As they say in show business, there's no such thing as bad PR, and I guess there's no such thing as bad interest in our cars from the masses.
As for people not knowing about cars, this is particularly true with young people. Boys today just aren't interested in cars like we were in my youth.

Had a lady yell at me for polluting, after getting out of her Prius (still running) to do so. I asked her if she knew how much hazardous materials were in her batteries. She had no idea, and was certain they were "not as bad" as the "smog I was producing".

Funny how perceptions can be different from reality. My C6 gets better mileage than my Infiniti M35S, but I'm sure I'd be more likely to get the same comment as you did about my Vette than about my sedan.

Was at the gas station with the ZR1, went inside for paying. She says, Nice viper you got there. I said thanks, i was kind enough to let her know that was a corvette. She says i never saw a good looking corvette like that! My zr1 is bone stock beside wheels!!

Recently, one guy asked me if "that was the new Firebird".
But the one that really stands out is a few years ago at a car show, they shoved me into the "modified" class instead of the Vette class. When I questioned why, they brought the "head judge" over to my car who then explained to me that my car was modified. It wasn't. I asked him how it was modified. His reply: "Your car has a trunk. Corvettes don't have trunks."
SERIOUSLY!!
