Default Warranty about to Expire. Any Common issues to check beforehand?

Friday our car's basic bumper to bumper 36,000 warranty expires (it was a gm certified car). It's at the shop for a creaking targa as of today and I was really hoping you guys could please chime in with any common issues or known flaws the 2008 coupes had. I'd love to be proactive and have these examined and addressed on GM's dime if possible.

I appreciate any and all feedback!

I would check the harmonic balancer for wobble.

tell them your HVAC controls flash intermittently (if they don't yet they will). very expensive unit so get it in under the wire.

Then you've until Friday to buy a GMPP.
Fortunately CF has a well known sponsor with the cheapest prices anywhere for a GMPP. Clock's running, though.

AFTER Friday you're stuck and as you may know it doesn't take much to run a repair bill to the moon with the C6.

Great feedback so far guys. I'll have the harmonic balancer and hvac looked at.

If anyone can think of anything else that would be phenomenal. Not planing to keep the car long term to justify the added cost of the warranty. It's a weekend car that I may sell in the near future.

Kudos to any more common gm gremlins!

Keep in mind that a tune may void the powertrain warranty, but any warranty on the other stuff will remain valid. We've made money on our last two Corvettes with GMPP, and a tune would not have effected the items that failed.

Unfortunately, Florida's benevolent government has decided to treat extended warranties as "insurance" and block out-of-state or discounted warranties unless the seller is licensed as an insurance agent in Florida. They screwed us citizen's on this issue!

You're correct, now I remember hearing FL nixed sales of OOS warranties. Screwed is right.

Floridians must 'shop' dealers, are they all equally priced?

For my '07, I gave a list to the service manager. I included TSB #s so they couldn't say there was no issue. I think they fixed everything i mentioned.

From my service log at month 36:
GM warranty -
replace targa gasket (bulging),
replace all 4 sway bar end links with improved design (popping noise),
replace differential fluid (TSB),
replace both rear axle nuts (TSB),
replace RH headlamp (crazing)

2000 bucks in warranty work.

Look for member 'CeYaBye".
Many satisfied CF members, prices unbeatable, bought 2 from Fictner myself. Find 'em and ask, very friendly & seamless process.

If you have Mag Ride (F55) have the shocks checked for leakage. They are ~$800 a pop and many have leaked prematurely.

It really is insurance. The screwing was requiring sellers to be licensed.

There never was an "improved design". The only change was for the kind of tool needed to install them.

Actually it's only been a few and the full list price is closer to $600 from the dealer and far less from other sources. I'd really doubt any extended warranty would cover shocks anyway.
