My bonehead electrical screw up
I removed my radio dash area & center console to remove the shift boot, ebrake boot, shifter, ebrake handle, & center console to have a shop put blue stitching in all, plus recover the center console in black leather with blue stitching. Blue suede in center console does wear down. Something comes up, so I was going to let someone drive my SUV. So I need to drive the vette to work. I decide to quickly reconnect a couple switches that controls the LEDs in the hood, vent cove, & interior bottom of door. I stupidly get some wires crossed. I had the car running, which was not a good idea. Electrical feedback or something, but the readout starts saying service anti lock breaks, service engine soon, then dead. Nothing. I go to work, did not loan my SUV. When I get home, same thing. It's dead. Battery is 100% charged. I look at the 60 amp fuses in the fuse box by battery. I find a bad 30 amp in the box. Replace it, plus the 15 amp fuse inside for instrument panel HUD. Everything was good. I was lucky I had as much luck as Andrew Luck of the Colts. I won't do that again.
