Default Floor jack cross beam questions?

I have a 08 base convertible.
What are the widths of the cross beam for the front and the rear?
How big do the pads need to be?
Thanks in advance!

I use the old Northern Tool Crossbeam Adaptors. The actual beams (without the extending 'arms') are 20.5". For the front beam I removed both extending arms and affixed the pads directly to the ends of the beam (so the total length of the front beam is 20.5". For the rear beam I left the extending arms in-place....measuring the length at the ends of the metal/rubber pads it's 27.5". The actual metal/rubber pads are approximately 4 3/4" square.

Here's an old photo I took for a forum member years ago. BTW the Craftsman floor jack has been modified so the pin of the crossbeam adaptor seats fully into the jack. I hope it helps. Good luck.

Here is another option. I went this way because I wanted to get the car way up in the air and the put jack stands under the car. Like Wayne I also used the The Northern Tool cross beam adapter, but I cut down both the beam and the extending arms.

I also had the machine shop that cut down the beam and extending arm remove the center pin on the cross beam and turn it down on a lath from 1 1/4" to 1" and also cut the grove in the pin to match the stock lifting pad of my floor jack.

Thanks
I just bought one from Harbor Freight, haven't taken it out of the box yet, but I was thinking I would have to cut it down. If I didn't cut it down, what could you use for a extra set of rubber pads?

A pair of hockey pucks for about $2. They would also double for use in the corner lifting points...
