Default Engines blown. Looking for help.

Hello, so unfortunately my LS7 gave out. It is a 2006 Z06, Has around 52k miles and never been tracked. I was heading down i10 in 6th and the car gave out at about 80mph, not sure what happened. All stock besides cai. My question is how would I go about this .... my car is getting towed to Late Model Racecraft, i want to cam the car and there is not reason the extended company won't cover my car.

So, should I drop a stock engine or maybe look for a modified motor? Any feedback would help, hopefully someone that has been through the process could chime in.

I know I also posted in the Z06 section, but kind of clueless now. I will keep you all updated

Thanks guys!

You might void the warranty if you do have a cam thrown in. I wouldnt be afraid to use a stock bottom end but stock heads wouldnt be on my car if it were me.

We don't have good statistics, but the LS7 doesn't seem to be the most reliable engine GM ever made, and putting in a different cam seldom makes an engine more reliable.

??Huh..? Are you saying that you have an extended warranty on the current motor but the warranty company won't pay to fix the motor and install a cam??Not clear on that.

Probably wouldn't win the blue ribbon in a middle school science fair.
