I plan to post in C5 also, but, I'm just curious to know : Is the C6 more comfortable to ride in for long trips, or is there no noticeable difference
between a C5 or a C6 ?
thank you!

I can only attest to the comfort of the C6 as I just returned from an eight state 4,300 mile trip in my vert and loved every minute of it. Next time though I'll add knee pads for all the twisties I took at speed.

It seemed like there was a little more leg room in the C5 than in the C6 if that's important to you. But the seats in the C6 are good and comfy. Of course, everything is going to be newer in the 6 too.......suspension, springs, cushion, etc.

I have had a C4, C5 & my current C6.... Loved the base seats in my 95 C4, hated the seats in my 01 C5. I find the C6 seats to be much better than the C5's
With that said that, seat comfort is very subjective....

I owned a 01 and those seats were terrible, I now own a C6. It is a night and day difference, much more support and the ride of the car is much smoother.

Had both, I'd say the C6 is significantly more comfortable for long drives. I'm only 5'10", so I can't comment on leg room, but seat comfort, ride and road noise comfort, and creature comforts (heated seats, xm radio, hid headlamps, power top for convertible owners, etc) all made the C6 a much better touring car in my view.

Can't speak to the C5 as I haven't personally owned one, but with each generation Cheverolet has made the Corvette into an increasingly sophisticated, refined, and comfortable car. The C6 is said to be an evolutionary step above the C5, and based on my experience I'd have to agree.
I just purchased a 2008 C6 with 15K miles on it. Drove it from South Carolina through the Appalachians, to Nasheville, Little Rock, then down to South Texas. In all, almost 1600 miles. Some of that through stormy weather. Absolutely loved every minute of it. The engine fades into the background and only makes itself known when goosed. The only thing you'll have to get used to with both the C5 and C6 is a bit of tire noise, but you get used to it.
All in all, I am amazed at how the Corvette fills so many roles: comfortable highway cruiser, daily driver capable of open air motoring (base models), and track muscle car/sports car... truly an impressive feat of American engineering.
Best of luck!

Absolutely. I've had two C4s, two C5s and now the C6. C6 is much better than the C5 for long trips.

C5 seats are a waste of prime real estate.C6 seats are absolutely more supportive but still not perfect. In the real world,I find that if the trip I'm on is to long I need to get out and stretch for a bit.The Vette ain't no Cadillac!

I had a C5 for 9 years and took it on a lot of long road trips and I love how much more comfortable my C6 is! The key is to find a C6 with magnetic ride control, as the touring setting is perfect for bumpy roads. Road noise is much lower in the C6, and it just overall feels more refined.

I bought my '08 used and drove in almost 900 miles home, and we have taken several other trips of various distances, and I have always thought that the seats were comfortable.

I had a new 98 C5 with the base suspension and I now have a 09 C6 Z06. Ride is slightly stiffer in the Z06, but not that much, but the Z06 is more comfortable driving for long distances. I test drove a new base 05 C6 in 2004, with the base suspension and found it to ride better than my C5. With my Z06, I do have to remove my wallet from my back pocket if I plan to drive over 25-30 miles.

I'm 5'8" and 173 lb. I drove my C6 from northwest Florida all the way to North Carolina. I was very comfortable. Now, if you are a huge person (be that exceptionally fat, or tall) I don't know how confortable the ride would be. It is a very subjective experience.

I owned a C5 and now a C6...both were/are comfortable. I did rebuild the C5 seats with new bottom foam...made a world of difference. I also placed a flexible plastic place mat between the foam and support wires on all the seats. Kept the wires from cutting into the seat foam.

at the first of October the wife and I put 2200 miles in the 08 vert
riding the twisties and beautful roads of western N.C. and a little into
Tennessee.
I am 6'3" and about 240 lbs and was very comfortable. My wife commented multiple times how much she enjoyed the trip and was
very comfortable.
