sorry - another oil change question
I know you all recommend once a year regardless of the oil life monitor. My situation is that my last oil change , when I bought the 2012 coupe with 6000 miles, was a year ago. My oil life monitor says I still have 71% life left. i drive the car very mildly for a Vette.
what would you do?
what would you do?

I stick with the maximum of one year regardless of what it says on the DIC. I think it provides a convenient time to inspect under the car as well.

I'll have about 1000 miles on it next February which is her 1st anniversary. My frugal nature says not to dump it but I will...if for no other reason than to comply with the warranty.

I don't get worried about calendar dates for maintenance, since they're mostly used as a reminder system. The DIC is a much better indication of when the oil should be changed.
Since we have a very dry climate here in AZ, the problem of condensation is non-existent. Cold weather and high humidity areas have different concerns, especially when they store their cars for months at a time.

Since desert air is very dry, condensation is very rare. It's common to see rain at the 3000 foot level, yet it completely evaporates before it gets to the ground.

I would change it once a year, but there have been posts here where people send 2 year old oil to the labs for analysis, and it tested ok. But not sure if that would always be the case.

I change mine annually and unfortunately it'll only have 2 or 3 k miles
I love an excuse to crawl under it and inspect everything

I was one of those people, it was in my mom's old 2001 VW Golf. She only used to drive about 3000-3500 miles a year, and so I changed out her synthetic oil (German made Castrol 0w30) every two years for her, and the oil analysis results always came back showing the oil was still suitable for continued use!
