Hello first time poster here.
So im stummped. My dad has just purchased a 2005 corvette.
Hes been saying its a rare car because it is stock from factory with a 6.0L with a super charger. I have spent hours searching for this type of car on the internet and can not find a single car like it. it has 6.0L supercharged on all the corvette logos. the only car i can find with that is the zr1 6.2l super charged that came out later on. I cannot find any information on this at all. what i am in search of is what type it is possibly a zr1? is it rare? or am i just missing the obvious and am over thinking all of this. i would appreciate some feed back.

It's not a ZR1 and it didn't come from the factory that way.

Someone added it after it left the plant.

The guy he bought it off of is a friend of his who originally purchased it in the states. ( We are from canada) He has said that it came from the factory like this.

Only if it was sent to someone like Callaway to have it added. They take brand new Corvettes and add a supercharger.

There was no supercharged 05 from factory, I have the same badge on my car, got it on eBay for about 10 bucks. Sorry not rare, but still fun....my 05 makes 605 rwhp ECS supercharged cam headers and full exhaust. Tell your dad to enjoy it.

Here's a copy of the order book for the 2005 C6s. See if you can find anything like that in it.

so you say some one has added it before it went to the dealership? all i have been told is that it was from factory like this. His friend he got it of of is a honest guy and would not make this up. im just confused. so this would just be a z06?

Also that is a stock narrow body. I have NEVER seen a Corvette like that produced by the factory with a supercharger.

I would bet against it coming from the factory that way (unless it was a special made one for a GM VIP).

Only stock supercharged corvettes are zr1 and you have a narrow body. So just a base c6. Any pics of the engine bay?

It looks like a 2005 Coupe with a supercharger added. That is not a bad thing. It is hard to tell any more than that from the info and pics provided.

It looks like a nice car.

From what my dad has also told me it has after market transmission and bigger breaks

OH it drives amazing. almost impossible to stop the wheels from spinning. had it up to 160mph. scared to go faster. but handling is beautiful. Could not ask for a better car. throttle response is instant. and acceleration is insane. Ive drove the thing more then my dad and hes had it 2 days ha

The guy may have bought like that, but it is aftermarket.

For instance, I have a 2005 with a procharger (and Indy race car driver signatures on the engine cowling). This was all done by California Customs and sold in dealerships.

It is not a Z06 or ZR1 of any kind. It did not come from the factory with a supercharger. A dealer could have had it put on, but doubtful. Someone bought the car, then had it put on.

Pictures of the engine would be very helpful.
