Yes the C6 still looks good, but to the non corvette person on the street it is dated when compared to the C7. Once you start seeing the C7 on the road more and more people will feel that way.

I still think the C5 is a little better looking than the C6....and I have the latter.

I like the C7 too but the C6 does have a 'smooth/mature' look that will be that way for a long time.

You know, people are going to have their opinions about my house, my wife, me, my car, etc. That is fine. Nothing wrong with that. They can think what they want. I still turn around and look back every time I leave it parked somewhere. To me, the C6 is awesome. The C5 is almost as awesome.

The C7 is a better car, but I don't like the looks as well as a C5 or C6. But I'm 53, and I think Chevy was trying to impress the younger folk with the C7. Who, by the way, don't have the money to buy one.

To the average joe, at a quick glance, those two cars look alike. Although I think the C6 does look a little dated now, they do share the same general form/shape.

Funny, I was in a video game store last night buying my 13 y.o. nephew a gift. Behind the counter was the display box for the newest Gran Tursimo 5 game. On the cover is a red C7.

I asked the two kids working the counter if they knew it was the new Corvette, they both did and thought it was "awesome".

The C6 is still a beautiful Corvette, but I think GM did exactly what it had to do with the C7 to attract the younger "Apple / Facebook" generation.

Its much more like an import than any previous Vette. But I still doubt most Porsche / BMW / Jaguar / import buyers, who don't care about track performance, will ever consider an American car, even a Corvette, due to perceived lack of status.

But only time will tell how successful the C7 sells. So far so good for GM.

They both look good, and have their pros & cons. Look at the gap from the bottom of the rear fender well to the ground on the C7 compared to the C6. I realize the C7 is a lane over so you can see underneath it, but the body sits higher off the ground.

It's a Base C7 and a C6ZR1...

Obviously the base would sit higher off the ground..

I know younger guys who all like the c5, the C6 and the new C7. I can’t imagine anyone, anyone looking at a C5 or C6 and saying to themselves I don't want this car because it looks like an old man's car. These cars are the sexiest cars on the road and we all have wanted them from the time we were little. Young people who aren't married might see a two seater as too impractical. I did myself for a while and then realized that 95% of the time it's just myself and the wife. If we need to take three people we can use her car. There is also the issue with driving the car in the snow and foul weather. With all-season tires the Vette should perform as well as my BMW which was rear wheel drive. I had a Supra that was front end heavy and it was dangerous to take out even in wet weather but the Vette has its weight evenly distributed. I think that many people who consider these cars think that you can't have a Vette as a daily driver and I believe this is what kills sales to younger people. The new design may alienate old timers who have the cash. I'm not sure...only time will tell.

The c6 is still beautiful but the c7 is more contemporary for sure.

I think that the C7 looks more "aggressive," if you will, with all of its corners and angles; while the C6 looks more "sleek" and "smooth" and a lot less "busy."

Every aspect of your post makes perfect sense and was well written. I'm 56 and bought my '13 GS in april when I could have ordered the C7 but the widebody to me is the sexier and meaner looking car. Either car could have been in my driveway but I chose the C6.

That is EXACTLY why i love the C6!!! I used to owned many supra's before, and for the the C6 have the same fluid line and clean yet really aggresive look. C7 deff look more update, but that doesn't mean better and im 28 years old so no im not an old stubborn who doesn't like change! I would take the C7 seat anytime though
