How about the ratio of the cars that were available with an automatic? C6 and C6 GS only.

Drop the Z06, 427 and ZR1 from the total and what percentage do you have then?

me too, can't stand driving one in Toronto traffic, as I use mine as a DD for nine months of the year

I'm not sure how to vote on these two choices. I'd get an auto if it were a DCT. Otherwise, manual.

I drive on the street only. When the red light goes out I like to step on the gas and go, not push the clutch in shift and then let the clutch out to go.

The OP's poll doesn't exclude the Z06, the 427, and the ZR1. If his poll doesn't exempt them, why should my response and numbers exclude them?

And C6 that you quoted above includes all those.

I have the best of both worlds, a standard shift Ferrari and an A6 Corvette..... when I feel like rowing gears I take the F-car, when I need more room or am going to be driving in Dallas or other big city traffic I take the Corvette...

Me too: Los Angeles traffic. I'd drive a stick if I lived in the country and didn't commute.

I thought the poll was about choice. If there is no choice there can't be a poll. Also not mentioned is the fact that the A6 owners PAY for their choice, maybe some of the manual transmission guys are just cheap? Or broke?

Look at the number of posters that stated that they wished the Z06/427/ZR1 was available in an automatic, no choice so they either bought the manual or bought a C6/GS with an A6.

I enjoy my M6, but honestly my A6 will run circles around it...

A 4:1 ratio in favor of an auto doesn't surprise me at all.

The main reason i bought my C4 is the manual 6-speed. It is a blast to drive. 3 of 4 rides i own are stick-shifters. Yea, someday i will get old and wont want a clutcher. My IROC camaro is auto with 350, so i can brake launch that all day!

I drive auto every day so the last thing I want is a car built for fun with an automatic!

I prefer manual, and have a manual, but I would buy an auto Corvette if it was the only choice.

Tried an auto on my 2007 Corvette so sorry.....but I do know. This discussion has been going on since the "60's" when I was racing my 396 Nova.
They were boring "Slush Boxs" then and still are today. I sold my 2007 within 18 months.

I'm 49 and quite frankly have gotten tired of rowing through the gears. It's nice to have an automatic and especially the paddle shifter, it puts the "fun" back into it.
