“Oh WOW! That must be the new Corvette”
said the gentleman at the gas station, while I was gassing up the ’13 Grand Sport this morning. I said “This one is a 2013. The new Corvette that’s getting all the hype is the all-new 2014.” “But this car is beautiful” said the gentlemen. He went on and on saying how much he liked my Vette and asked a couple of times if mine was a ’13. LOL….I thanked him for the complements and he went on his way. Obviously he’s not a Vette or a car guy, but his comments sure made my day. Bottom line the C6 is still getting thumbs up and nice words.
Here's a pic of my GS.

Is the grill on your GS OEM or aftermarket? I don't have a GS so I don't really know.

Most people cant tell the difference between a base C6 and a Zr1. To people not in the car world, they all look the same...
Nice looking GS.
Nice looking GS.

That is so true. When my 2001 convert was parked next to my 2007 convert in the garage most non corvette people thought the 2001 was the newer model.

Nice looking GS, and you exerienced how little the general public knows about Corvettes, but always nice to get some pleasant compliments. Does make your day.

Though I have but the lowly "base" C6, I still get many compliments from strangers either when stopped at a stoplight or a thumbs up when driving down the road.
Nothing like a Red Vette...

Just like in the 911 world. Non car people and sometimes even car people but not Porsche people cannot tell the difference between a base Carrera to a GT2 or 3RS

If someone will go the C7 forum..."Post your C7 pictures here" and paste under this thread you can see both cars side by side.
In my opinion C6 looks better on (3) sides, C7 looks better in rear.

nothing like the lady taking my money at the detail shop this morning who, when I was handing her the money, she asked which car. I pointed at my vette and she said, oh the mustang. And she had no idea why I started laughing hilariously.

The C6 is and remains a beautiful car, despite the arrival of the C7. IMHO, anyone who is ready to throw the C6 under the bus just because the C7's are here, doesn't really appreciate corvettes.

My wife and I saw the 2014 Corvette in person at the COTA races last weekend. Frankly, neither of us liked the "Batmobile" look of the car in person.
If Chevy had a look they were going for, good for them if they hit it. All of the black accents on the yellow car were a little over the top and the rear fascia...well, I'm not going there. She said that it might look better in black where the accents are muted and not so in-your-face.
For those who really like the styling of the new 2014 Stingray, that's wonderful! Should be a great platform and is a tecnological advance over the C6 generation.
Luckily, my nearly new 2012 has the more classical Corvette styling that we prefer. Maybe if I drove a 2014 and got some more time around one it might grow on me. Anybody want to let me drive their new Stingray ?
