Default Do C6 and C7 Corvettte owners have a high turnover rate?

Do owners of the newer C6 or C7 Vettes keep their cars long term 10 or 15 years or more, like owners of classic 60s and 70s vettes? or are you newer owners (2007 and up) more likely to sell/trade for newer and better versions as they are released?

The only way I can equate this is to Atvs in which I am very familiar with. I have owned over 11 Atvs of every make and model over the last 10 years. Long story short, The Can Am Renegade is sort of like a Corvette. Prior to 2010 the Can Ams were not perfect, and had issues. However, in 2010 Can Am righted all the wrongs, and I bought it. Since then Can Am came out with a newer model with a larger motor, aside from this larger motor its basically the same machine as my 2010, and I have no urge/need to buy the latest model, and I am perfectly content.

How does this apply to a Corvette? I would hate to commit my money to one particular Year/Model only to want a newer one down the road. I am just curious how happy/content newer C6 and C7 owners are or do they wish they could have that latest model? Is there one year or model that is considered the total package? For the Can Am Atvs is is from 2010 on up, rock solid, just curious when it comes to Corvettes.

The '09 was the pinnacle year for the C6. Hard to say how long C7 owners will keep theirs since none have been delivered to the general public.

Made bad, so for the C7 reference, still new to the Corvettes.

I meant C6 and earlier owners. Thanks.

As others have stated, there are no C7 owners yet.

And you are very misinformed about owners of 60s and 70s Corvettes keeping their cars for 10 or 15 years. We kept cars for two to five years, for the most part, and bought something new (Corvette or another make, even type of car). I kept my '67 roadster two years and had a '69 coupe to replace it!

I kept my 82 CE for 7 years, my 89 convertible was with me for 12 years, my 98 convertible for 5 years, and my 06 convertible has been with me for almost 8 years.

I'm 3 days shy of one year with my 13 and I had another 82 that I only kept for a year.

As for my self, I bought my 07 new with 2 miles on it off the show room. It now has over 155K miles on it. I plan on keeping my Vet unit it is no longer financially feasible to repair or replace parts.

I met someone with a 60 Vette with 375k miles on it, original owner. He said "I just drove it when I wanted to". Yes, engine and tranny are not original but who cares at that point. 53 years later he would definitely be able to sell it for plenty of $$ even with the miles. Will my C6 be around 50 years from now? Probably not owned by me since I'll be 95 then. Really I'm not concerned as I just drive it when I want to. I did buy my 60th Anniversary GS Coupe because I love its looks and the C6 generation as a whole. It definitely has one of the nicest stock interiors of any C6.

I keep my cars for a long while. Eventually the bug hits and I feel like I need something new. I suspect my Corvette will be the same.

^ I tend to agree.

Cars are expensive, and if one is not giving me any serious trouble, I keep it as long as
it's economically feasible to do so (when compared to replacement alternatives).

That being said, my Corvette is a "luxury" and I'm hoping to keep mine always.
