GM Bra
I'd like to get a GM Bra for my 2012 GS. Can someone recommend a good place to buy one? I looked on GMPartsDirect but did not see one for the GS. I intend to use it for road trips and do not want to spend hundreds for one of the better ones.

The GM bra is the best protection you can get for the money. We have thousands of highway miles on our Corvettes, and not a single stone chip to the fascia. Got mine from Ken Fichtner: see his posts above for the address. Good price. BTW, we have the clear bra too, but use the GM for road trips, as it gives much better protection.

Google it plenty of choices, your local dealer should be able to get you one. They list for $100.00, better than spending a thousand or so on that clearbra stuff.

I have a brand new never used GM C6 bra that I don't need because I'm going to do the Z06 front wide body. PM me if you are interested.

Just received a reply from GMPartsDirect.
"Hi Russell,
I am sorry, General Motors does not offer a front end cover (bra) for the VIN supplied."
That's a bummer. Not interested in a clear bra. I have read on here about a stretch bra that some owners have. Do they offer good protection?

Speed Lingerie....fits like a glove
I wouldn't buy a Colgan based on seeing the damage one did to my girlfriends 02 when it flew off then I just heard of one flying loose on a C6 and damaging the paint...heres the thread http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...-problems.html
I had a clear bra on my Z06 for 1 day ...looked like *** and I ripped it off and got my money back...I don't care what anyone says you CAN see them ...at least you can take a regular bra off

If all you are going to be doing is street driving you probably don't need a bra on the front. Instead of spending money on the front spend it on the sides of the car where the real damage will be done by your own tires. Anything between the rear of the front fender well and the top or the arch of the rear wheel well is subject to debris thrown from you tires. Cover the back of the front fender, the lower door up to the crease, the rocker panel and the rear quarters up to opening for your hand. The debris from your front tires sprays diagonally up the side of the car all through this area.
I never use a front bra on the street and don't get any damage from not using them. I do use them on the track when available since there is a lot more stuff thrown in the air and you are hitting it at much higher speeds.
There must be a good reason why GM doesn't make one for the wide body cars. I had the C5 GM Bras on my 97 and 03Z. Both fit well and were great at high speeds. The 97s regularly held up to 137 mph speeds on the track and the 03s held up well at 146 mph. I had originally installed a Colgan bra on the 97 but it tore apart after a few track days. It couldn't handle the high speed stress.

Agree....Also in my opinion the clear on the front of the Vette and the rest of GM's late model stuff is some of the best I've seen. I tried wet sanding a couple light scratches out of my wife's Malibu grill area and 1000 wet sand would barely cut it as opposed to you better be careful everywhere else.
