Where to stay in Bowling Green?
Me and my Wife are traveling to Bowling Green in October to visit the Corvette Museum.
I'm looking for recommendations for where to stay a couple nights. Any good restaurants we should check out?
No Motel 6 please.
Thanks!

About two exits down from the Museum on I-65 is Scottsville Road. There are numerous places to eat and hotels along that road. I have a Marriott Rewards card so I tend to stay in one of their hotels. The Marriott Courtyard is very nice and I have stayed there before. The museum website lists hotels that may give discounts to Corvette owners.

RickT, thanks for all the info! Thanks for the input from other members too. I'm going to start making reservations this weekend so this will come in handy.

I've travelled all my life and am very picky about hotels. I require a nice room and NO interstate locations. I found the rooms at Hilton Garden Inn to be 1st rate....liked the location as well.
P.S. Treat yourself to some of that bourbon flavored ice cream @ Chaney's Dairy Barn (truly outstanding)!

I doubt if this will mean anything to the person who receives it, but here are my thoughts, for what its worth.
I was a recent guest for the Corvette 50th celebration and felt that my stay at *******'s Opryland was, for the money spent, the worst lodging experience I've had in many years of travels. I made my reservations for my stay about 6 months in advance and reserved a non-smoking room with a king size bed. When checking in, I was told there were no king size rooms available, but for an additional $100 I could upgrade to a suite with a queen size bed. You have me by the "short hairs" at this point because I've driven 650 miles to get to your establishment and have no desire to try to go and hunt for a better room elsewhere, and the $170 I'm paying for the cubicle with two beds that I will get is already a pretty poor value for a hotel room. I am forced to accept the two-bed room which turns out to be a room with a toilet that never stops running, a television that doesn't work properly, an iron with no ironing board, and a security box that is closed and locked. I shouldn't have to report these short-comings in a hotel that is charging premium prices, these items should be addressed by your service staff on a daily basis without a guest's report. Quality service should be invisible to your guests.
My wife and I next visited the Cascades bar where we were charged $18.50 for the first two drinks we had (you are charging "taxes" that I saw on no other drink tab in Nashville) and then was charged $20.19 for the same two drinks the next time ordered. That cured me of any more cash outlay at one of the bars/restaurants at Opryland as it was beginning to feel like services at Opryland, like the rooms, were less than represented in your promo.
As I stated earlier, I doubt if this will mean anything to you, but if there is one guest that *******'s Opryland has failed to deliver quality to...there are probably more.

The Hilton Garden Inn mentioned above would also be my recommendation.

Dogs are welcome and it is right across from Olive Garden. Clean, newer facility in safe locale. Wasn't there to stay in motel room. What's not to like?

We stayed at the Country Inn and Suites on Scottsville Rd and loved it. Friendly people and clean rooms and they had a hose, bucket and towels available to wash the Vette. One of our favorite places to eat was the Montana Grill down the street..

We stayed at holiday in express 2 exits south of the museum. Will always stay here!!!!! They even give you a key to the hose around back and let you wash your vette!!!!

We also stick with Marriott properties when we can, and did so at the Courtyard when attending the Bash this past spring. Everything there was very good, as we expected it to be.
Had a very good meal at the Montana Grill. Definitely would go there.

I have not been but going to plan something for next year. You can not lose with either a Marriott or Holiday Inn hotel (any of the classes of the chains) I normally stay in one or the other when available. If both I hit the Holiday Inn Express, am a rewards member and they always have a solid free breakfast.

I live in Louisville not Bowling Green, but our family has many degrees from Western KU there. Go to Scottsville Road, it has many motels and many restaurants to choose from. Nashville is about an hours drive south and obviously choices go up to a different level there.

Drury Inn at the intersection of Scottsville Road and I-65. Next to Outback but go to Montana Grill for your steaks!!!!! I generally like the Country Inn & Suites having stayed at the one in Olean, NY on business many times. Didn't know that there was one on Scottsville Road.
