Did you install a new battery recently? And correctly use the cone-shaped terminal nuts?

Anyway, before you decide what to do, crawl under your C6 and inspect the [+] post on the solenoid ASAP!

Maybe your solenoid connection is loose & undamaged. But it can get worse: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...oid-cable.html

This is a known issue. Lots of related threads, like these:

And of course, DISCONNECT THE BATTERY before you start messing with the starter solenoid.

hmm, interesting. that's why I asked. sometimes, when I start my car, it keeps spinning until it catches. but then it stops. don't have to hit the off portion of the button. I'll have to look at the threads CO provided because it could be (mine, probably not yours) the on/off switch itself.

Hey Tube,

I cannot offer technical help like the other members. I can offer to run your VIN to see if you have any open service related announcements. PM me with your VIN and mileage.

I can also help if you decide to go to the dealership. Keep me posted,

The starter will crank for a predetermined time or, until the engine starts, once it starts it will stop cranking.

It's like magic only better

Then you need to determine the fault in the system
