Default OEM Mufflers- Are they side specific?

I have OEM mufflers, with the dual exhaust tips. The outlet of the mufflers are not centered, and are more on the outside section.
This setup make the tips pretty far apart from each other.
I would like to get the tips closer together, and I was thinking that if I swapped the mufflers to opposite sides, RH to LH etc, then the tips would be pretty close, or at least closer to each other because the outlets would be on the inside section.
Is it possible to do the swap, or will the exhaust pipes need to be bent to prevent any hitting. Will the hangars need to be repositioned?

Thanks for the responses.

Would the pipes coming in to the mufflers still line up?

I've added a few pics so people can see how far apart the tips areAlso, that the inlets are centered, but the pipes are bent to the outside.
Will I need to get a muffler shop to reverse this????

They're supposed to look like that on the C6. Do you want to have 4 equally spaced tips like the C7 has?

Not sure if you could flip the mufflers over or not, but I don't really see why not offhand if that's the look you want.

I'm hoping I can swap them from side to side, because I want the tips equally spaced, like the C7, although I never thought of it that way.
I just don't care for the big gap between the tips, and I'm not a big fan of the exhaust plate to put in between the tips.
I'm thinking it's not easily done, or lot's of people would of tried it by now.
I'm praying that someone on this forum has attempted this before.

I don't think you can just flip them over. If you look, the pipes would be too high if rotated 180 degrees and wouldn't clear the difuser.

The mufflers are side specific. The pic below is of NPP mufflers...but it gives you an idea of what would happen if you just tried to swap them from side to side...

I'm not trying to rotate them, I'm trying to move the left muffler to the right side, and the left muffler to the right side.
That way, the tips will be close together.
The only issue may be the exhaust pipes to the muffler inlets.

I see what your saying. It looks like it may be very difficult to do, hence why no one has done it.

You'd have to cut off the inlet pipes close to the muffler body and swap them side to side as well. Impossible? No. PIA? Yes.
