Default Plasti dipped my C6

Had some free time this weekend and decided to try dipping my car. I went with matte pearl white. My phone camera doesn't really pick up the pearl very well but here are a few pics. I think it came out pretty good.

The finished surfaces look VERY GOOD in the pictures. Obviously in person would be the only way to know for sure. Can you briefly describe the application process?

I was worried about it having alot of texture myself. What I've seen and read is you have to go on the heavy side and be very consistent with nozzle distance and overlap.

Since I started with black to make the white cover and be really white, they tell you to start with 2-3 coats of gun metal grey. Then I did 6 coats of white and then 3 coats of 100% pearl top coat.

White over black....good luck pealing all that stuff off later on and having little white chunks in all the nooks and between panels.

Thank you. It's really not that bad of a job to do and I like doing things different.

My first thought as well. This stuff isn't very durable and will get a gouge that will require removal and reapplication. That will be tedious at best.

Now, if you don't mind the work and have the time..... Rock on.

I was actually thinking of using 'dip as a temporary bra for track days. Apply, track, wash off at local hi pressure car wash.

YouTube plasti dip car wash and you'll see the owner of the company washing his car with a pressure washer and putting the nozzle against the door and it never tears...

I sprayed the originally chrome grill insert on my Jeep PlastiDip black back in Feb and it still looks good despite daily driving and several washings.....tougher than you think.

also considered the temp bra thing for road trips..
