The GT1's were low production, but not any more performance.

The Centennial Z06 was pretty low production, high performance, and fine, too.

Of course, I traded my Centennial Z06 on a 60th 427 Vert. IMHO, the best looking C6.

the 427 and the Carbon edition cars will bring the most $ in 30 years. By then just the fact that these cars are gasoline powered will make them rare.

If you look historically at the Vettes, its either a model change year, final model year or a particular feature that was short production. thinging about the 53, 63 split rear, 67 427, 96 grand sport. Watching Barrett Jackson, you now see '67 427's going for 200k.

Just my opinion, but I dont think that the ZR1's will be particulary collectible, too many of them over several production years. Honestly in 50 years, I think it will be the 60 anniversary 427 convertibles and the 2010 GS. The Grand Sports were only produced for 3 years and was very unique in that they took the best aspects of the wide body / Z51 and matched it with the more useable LS3 engine. 2010 being the introduction year I think it will have some collectibility in 50-60 years.

Honestly though, anyone who buys thinking about future value, collectibility, etc.. should reconsider their purchase.

To be honest it is very likely that only a very few C6's will be considered collector cars, after all, very few after the C2 have made it into that collectable status. The "King of the Hill" C4 ZR1 struggles to get over $25,000 and this car cost over $60,000 new, set records that lasted years and has the most unique engine ever put in a vette. Nothing all that unique with the C6 even though the C6 ZR1 is a monster. The 427 vert.? Maybe. Low numbers, last year of 427 (maybe) Al frame. But who knows. If I could see into the future I could be a whole lot richer.

I suspect one of the game changers this time around is technology. By that, I mean those old 50's and 60's era corvettes were straight up big motors with little to go wrong. Some new internals, a few wires and some rubber parts, the rest were salvageable. This time around, there are ample electronics to consider. In the world of electronics, a few years is a lifetime. So, the question begs, will a lack of support for those electrnics cause the valuations to be worse, simply because you cannot restore them? Who knows at this point?

That is why this time around, its likely best to drvie and enjoy them, and let someone else worry about valuation when we are all "dead guys".

Night Race Blue Metallic 427 will be the ones. One year model with a one year color.

Just like any other year, low mileage highly optioned cars of all configurations will be the most collectable (which is what the question was). Now, the most desireable is another thread and question............

Not necessarily. There were 3467 1956 Corvettes built and 6339 1957 Corvettes built and they are almost identical in appearance. The 1957 has always been more collectable, and draws the highest price, even though they built 80% more of them.

With the C2, the 63 coupe was at 10,594, but the 64 coupe was 8304, the 65 coupe was 8186, the 66 coupe was 9958 and the 67 coupe was 8504. We all know that the 63 coupe is the more collectable of all the C2 coupes even though it was built in the highest volume.

For the C2's coupes and convertibles combined, the 64 is the least desirable yet compared to all the other years, except for the 63, it had the lowest production.

I understand that is already a problem with the C5.

After the .Gov mandates all cars have to be a powerless piece of crap .....all corvettes will be sought after and the 427/zr1 will be at the top.

Quite a few of us were around when those were introduced...
And some of us were around when the 53 was introduced. I saw a new 53 at Bale Chevrolet in Little Rock, Arkansas when I was eleven when I stopped in to get my wheels and axles for my soap box derby racer(Chevrolet was the Soap Box Derby sponsor and provided the wheels and axles and a helmet free).

I bought a 2013 427 when I saw the C7 figuring the 427 would be a good car to hold so theres my vote! Plus figured that epa BS laws will probably never allow another 427 convert.Great info by the way JoesC5

Agreed. No sense in keeping my car nice for the next owner.

2011 ZO6/ZO7 with carbon fiber package and Oh Yeah! in black.

Actually, I vote the ZO6, any ZO6.....seems to be the perfect balance of fuel efficiency and race track awesomeness. Kind of like a super hot little fighter plane. Mine gets lots of thumbs up.

The Z06 is a very special car (not just corvette) indeed. It will definitely go down in the books as one of the best ever made, especially for its time.

I'll say at the risk of making some people mad, none of the above. Maybe, and just maybe, the 427 Vert if, and that's a big if, someone was willing to buy one, and just store it for 30 years, not driving it.

You'll do a lot better investing in something else.
