Default Trying to update 2005 corvette Nav

Just burnt the 2 disks to update firmware . Followed the linkin the forum. When I insert the disks (#1) the message says this is no a nav disk. So I can't go any further, with the update. I'm using the directions that are postd in the forum . Can anybody help? The present disk is series 1. I can't play mp3 , so this is why I want to update. I would also like to update nav.

How did you burn the files on the disc? I used I tunes on a Mac and it worked the first try. Is it supposed to go in the nav slot or cd slot? I did it so long ago I cant remember.
To update the nav you only need to buy a newer version map disc.

Make sure it's on a Verbatim disk. I tried on other manufacturers of disks with no luck. It would update the firmware but wouldn't read the maps.
I used Image Burn with GM version 8 found on a torrent site (DW464210-7510.iso is the file name)

You have to download the files and burn them to disc. There is a small chance your dealer will have them too.

may sound simple, but you are putting the disc in the bottom slot of the two available cd slots? Mine wont work in the top "CD" slot but does work in the bottom "DVD" slot.....

Your '06 is fine. The update is for 2005s. It cures a problem of static while listening to FM and also provides MP3 disc playback capability which your 2006 should already have.

Default Upgrade on 2005

I sure could use those 2 disks. I'd be willing to pay somebody for a copy of the ones that worked on their 2005.

Not sure were you downloaded the software update files from but here is a link to the ones that used to fix my 05 NAV system:

http://www.mediafire.com/download/az.../NAVUpdate.zip

The two files are only 9 Mb in size total and see that something like 69 people have downloaded it from the time I posted it back when.

Download them and copy them to two CD discs and follow the instructions to update. You must follow the instructions exactly.

Make sure you do a 2012 nav update first. I had the mp3 update done 3 years ago. When I put my 2012 nav disk in it screwed up my radio's capability to play cds properly.

My 2005 is long gone, but what does the nav have to do with the MP3 capabilities abllity to play?
