Default Newer Vette Owner, Please explain that "its so cool that I dont drive it often" ?

Im not trying to sound like a jerk...I just wanna see what Im missing here....

Why not drive your Vette on all nice days? Basically the whole summer?

What are you saving it for?

Why do you pay so much for something you dont enjoy?

You can die tonight, why not make the best of today?

Im the same way with my clothes and jewerly and everything else....I try to live up everyday....so maybe thats why I dont understand why it's cool to lock up my awesome ride in my garage...

thanks yall

have a awesome weekend

I've never got this either ... but each person can do what they want with their car. After all, it's their money they spent on it. I know a lot of people do this with cars costing less than half as much (Camaros, Mustangs, Challengers). Figure THAT ONE out.

First, I've too many cars so don't need to drive it everyday.
Second, if I drive it everyday then it's no longer special, just another of my many other cars, hehe...

I agree with you OP, the only time it makes sense to leave a car you cherish in a garage is if you're a collector and it's an investment and you plan on reselling it in the future to make money...I'm about to go to work in 20mins...in my vette.

It's like buying a racehorse and chaining it up in the garage just to look at it and show others. The C6 is world class racecar and meant to be driven as often as possible. The funny part is, those who do this are just saving it for the next owner (probably a 30yr old) to beat the hell out of it. I'd rather get my money's worth.

When I worked and lived up North, all my Corvettes were always used as my fair weather toy. I made huge payments on them, and literally sat in the garage for 6 months a year and only went out on sunny days when I wasn't working. Now that I am retired and living in the South (still making huge payments) all the Corvettes that I buy will be used as Daily Drivers. My new 427 Convertible is my one and only car.....I like it that way!

I've had 7 Corvettes and each one was my only car and a daily driver/commuter car. Drive it, if it wears out buy another one... I'm the reverse of many here, mine sits in the garage on most weekends and gets driven on weekdays.

But as much as I've driven it, it does become "just a car" There is nothing really special about taking it out for a drive. I imagine someone taking out his garage queen for a ride feels a lot more excitement than I feel.

I do drive mine when I have a chance but I have 3 company cars and always drive one of those back and forth to work

I also own a Dodge truck that I use to pull boat/atv, take trash to the dump, etc. Other than that it sits as well since I am in company car most of the time

I really thought My Wife would drive the Vette to work some but she will not touch it, LOVES to RIDE but WILL NOT DRIVE IT

Besides I honestly think it is kind of neat when people see my house and Wife's Trailblazer, Daughters Infinity, Dodge truck and of course one of my trusty Ford Taurus's sitting in the driveway and I open the garage and see there EYE POP OUT of their eye sockets when they see a Vette in the garage LOL

LOL. My wife's Mustang cost, and is still worth, close to twice what my Vette is worth.

Oh, and since there are several threads on this exact topic going right now, this fits:

or like a empty house. it will deteriorate and dye eventually. Age takes a toll on cars as well as miles. for those that think letting it sit in the garage will preserve it.....wrong, its not the right thing to do. also gasoline goes bad quickly these days that's not helping either.

Same here. Drove it home from the museum and then three miles to work and three home. Rain or shine. 30,000 miles in eight years.
