It's nice to have choices. My other car is a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 Hemi that I also very much enjoy driving. The one that I take out for any given drive depends on which one I feel like driving at the time. Also, if I need to go out when it's raining and either of the cars is freshly washed (regardless of which one), it stays in the garage and I drive the other one.

That is the way it was with my first Corvette many years ago. I have found that having a truck to share driving duties makes them both more fun to drive.

I believe we are currently averaging 2.7 Threads per day on this topic.
The irony is the time the OP's, who are supposedly so busy out driving their cars, are taking to start and contribute to these Threads. In reality, it's apparent they have nothing better to do than question other folks use of their cars. What a noble investment of time . . . . .

Like others have said....there have been many threads on this subject, and there should be no reason for a can of worms, or controversy.
I think by now, most folks agree that the smart thing to do with a Corvette is drive it only when necessary, only when the weather is nice, put on as little mileage as possible, and spend most of your time detailing your 'vette in your garage. Real men don't need to prove anything to anyone!
Of course, there are always the other folks who believe that a 'vette should be driven hard, all the time, and treated no differently than any other car. Those who make a garage queen out of a Corvette, are ***** wimps. Real men drive their 'vettes,.... a lot.
There you have it, no can of worms here.

Seems like this thread topic gets more mileage than a lot of our cars...

Has anyone ever started a thread asking why some people drive their cars too much....

SUre is fun though for folks to rationalize their actions on either side of the spectrum. I would guess most of us fall in the middle, using vs not using.
But at the end of the day, both sides are right. The vette is just as beautiful to look at standing still as it is to drive, IMO.

Safety Car
I do drive mine when I have a chance but I have 3 company cars and always drive one of those back and forth to work
I also own a Dodge truck that I use to pull boat/atv, take trash to the dump, etc. Other than that it sits as well since I am in company car most of the time
I really thought My Wife would drive the Vette to work some but she will not touch it, LOVES to RIDE but WILL NOT DRIVE IT
Besides I honestly think it is kind of neat when people see my house and Wife's Trailblazer, Daughters Infinity, Dodge truck and of course one of my trusty Ford Taurus's sitting in the driveway and I open the garage and see there EYE POP OUT of their eye sockets when they see a Vette in the garage LOL

My wife also loves to ride but does not like to drive. I have encouraged her to, but she keeps saying "someday."
On top of all of that, sometimes life gets in the way and I might go a month or so without driving it at all. I got it Dec. 1 and currently have about 650 miles on it. I plan on keeping it at least 10 years and possilbly forever, so I'm in no hurry, there will be plenty of time to enjoy it.

I had to drive four miles into town to pick up pizza earlier. I had to decide whether I'd drive the Corvette or drive the Ferrari. The Ferrari... won.. life's tough when you have to make such crucial decisions.....

Ever since I met a nice man that owns a 1960 Vette (original owner) and has 375,000 miles on it, I really haven't cared about how many miles I put on my Vette. He said all the mileage was "special". He said annual mileage has decreased a little as the car got older (and he said himself also) but he still drives it often. Just do what you want with your Vette. Of course a low mileage Vette will be worth more but not really that much more. Just look at the difference of say a 5-10k 05 C6 vs 80k or so. Maybe $5-10k at the most if that much.

It's like buying a racehorse and chaining it up in the garage just to look at it and show others. The C6 is world class racecar and meant to be driven as often as possible. The funny part is, those who do this are just saving it for the next owner (probably a 30yr old) to beat the hell out of it. I'd rather get my money's worth.
