Official Garage Queen Thread

Thanks.... that's my wife 66 (her baby). I bought it for her 14 years ago from a guy who kept in a car museum in St. Louis for 15 years. It's about as clean of a "untouched" Mustang you're going to find. Has the Pony Interior and all. Body is straight, clean & 100% original although it's starting to get the infamous rust bubbling on the lower doors. I have new lower skins for the doors I will put on which is one of my winter projects between work and chasing 5 kids all over lord knows where.

Sure it is a garage queen with only 14.5K miles on a 2008. However, the XKE is a bigger queen with just 15K miles on a 1973! I live in New England where the Vette gets driven for 1/2 the year and more than 1/2 of those days are lousy weather!

Yo Fred! Very sharp looking cars. I'd sure like to see a few snaps of that E-Type! The early 70s were my favorites. This is after all, a "Garage Queen" thread, not specific to Corvettes only.

Thanks for starting this thread. I was embarrassed, and worried I might be the only one out there. The only one who was buying a Corvette to keep in the garage. I know I shouldn't be ashamed. Everyone knows, if you drive a car they'll get... well... dirty. Washing cars is such a pain, and don't get me started on road tar. Tar is pure evil, the mark of Satan. And stone chips are... so painful... so permanent, and ugly. We can't let them blemish the little Princess.
Sheesh. Those reckless fools driving Corvettes just don't understand. The thought gives me shivers. Sure, I check the weather report occasionally, wondering, could it rain? Will I actually take her for a drive today. No, of course not. It's just a fantasy.
We have a way to communicate now, here on this thread. The keepers of Garage Queens. I'm glad there are others like me, alone in my garage, zen-like, quietly staring an my captive beauty. Knowing she's perfect, and no one else can see her but me.

It doesn't take a trained therapist to see that you have some issues.
It's obvious that your post was designed to be sarcastic, and ridicule those folks that don't drive their cars as much as you think they should.
However, just the fact that you could take the time to post that here, indicates to me a need to show animosity towards those people, who enjoy their cars as much in the garage, as they do on the road.
You need to seek help to work through these issues. You'll know when you're cured, when you can pass by a thread like this, simply because you have no interest, and no need to post.
In the meantime, I don't want you to leave angry. Would you like me to return your click?

You may have to select all to view the photos. Enjoy them. It is a very nice example of a classic Jaguar XKE V12 roadster
I bought this in 2004 with 12K miles on it and I am the 3rd owner.

Well you are the OP and you asked. Here is a link to an album of Jaguar photos that I took a while ago. The car still looks exactly the same. For those that do not want to see non-Corvette content then don't click here!

mine went from daily driver to garage something a few years ago...
can a once daily driver become a garage queen? or is that like a hooker becoming a princess????
I have 69K miles but probably only 2K in the last 3 years or so....
I guess, I have a garage hooker... she got rode hard and put up wet many a time

I for one appreciate the OP staying with his thread all the way through. Too many guys start a thread and disappear, good job OP!
This is me standing next to my buddies 2006 FGT that he just sold with 1200 miles on it. As well as those cars do anyway with resale the low miles on his helped him get top dollar, one just sold at Mecum with 6 miles on it for 377k.

4400 on my 2008. $/ mile is hard to look at sometimes...

Very nice car the OP has. While black wheels are not my thing they are cherished by my son and son-in-law.
But the chrome valve stems on black wheels are just a fashion no no.
Please address the issue and get them blackened so you will be in compliance.

Bought my '13 BS coupe Feb 22. Now has 600 miles. Washed once about 3 months ago. Doesn't like to get her hair wet. Silver is the best if you just leave it alone in the garage.

A dedicated Garage Queen NEVER looks at the $ per mile ratio....never! It has been known to cause cardiac arrest, as well as head trauma!
