Plastidip overspray!!
Well I'm a moron and I'm not afraid to admit it. I already knew that painting wasn't my forte when I destroyed my Fuel Rail Covers after trying to paint them and making a complete mess. You would think that after costing myself a hundred bucks I would learn to leave things like this to others especially when my best friend owns a body shop and will do anything I ask him to for free. Well no not me. I decided to spend the weekend plastidipping my mirrors. Needless to say it didn't do a very good job and had to take it all off. Now I have overspray all over the side of my car and need to have my buddy who owns the body shop take it all off with the wheel. It's not a big deal as it's only plastidip but I'm really kind of ashamed of myself. I've really never found anything I couldnt do with enough practice but painting using a spray can seems to be one of those things that I'll never master. I'm sure I'll find myself in this predicament again eventually.

Clay bar and a firm soapy wash w/ a micro fiber should take it off, especially if you had a coat of wax on the car. No need for a wheel. It's not paint it rubber. It will rub off. You may get some lite scratching just keep dunking the wash rag to remove what you took off instead off driving it into the paint. So maybe a light polish at the worst.

"In honor of jpee"
what you're saying is everyone's first attempt at just about anything! don't be so hard on yourself---at least it wasn't acryllic or enamel or rustoleum paint in a can! you must be murder with a brush or roller---j/k.
if everybody on CF admitted all the goofy and dumb things they did (me, included, maybe especially), there would be no room for threads like:
"which wheel should I get?"
"what color car is the best?"
"my car won't start?"
"do headers really work?"
Just think of your post as a Public Service Message to all of us "thumbs guys" (most of whom don't have best friends that own a body and paint shop) to take more caution, use paper and blue tape, practice on other things before the Big Vette Painting, etc.
btw, thanks for the post.

Get a can Prep All from any auto parts store; when you spray it on plastidip, the stuff just dissolves and you can wipe it off with no effort.
Make sure you re-wax afterwards, as it will remove your wax as well.

Since nobody else has asked, why would you want to spray plastidip on your mirrors?
