blah blah blah, its your money, blah blah blah but what a complete waste of money when you likely can get a C6 for less than what you are paying to do this.

This is the C6 forum...no amount of parts or money will change the fact you have a C5...I also highly doubt there is anybody that can help you as those people have already been rounded up and institutionalized......keep running before they catch you too...

Thank to help my project

And for the person who have REALY read my post, you have to understand that i just start with a C5 chassis because it's more streetable than start to a full cage body like this :

Instead to be upset/disagree, you shoud be PROUD i want use a C6 body, because i will glory the name of Corvette by winning drag race, and coming on drag strip and comming back BY THE ROAD (now, in my category , we are only 2 to do this in my country... A powerfull AC cobra with a lot of mod... and me... and i'm alone in the other country i drag race)
In the category i want go with my new project, i will be the ONLY to do this !

Hope you understand, and you will help...
If i'm alone, it will be MY project
If you help, it will be OUR project

I'm sure some of you was owned A C5 before, or perhaps have C5 AND C6 at home... You should help... If you want

So you're saying that the C5 frame is superior to the C6 frame for what you want to do. How much more superior? How much improvement over the C6 frame will it provide? Faster 1/4 mile times? Better stability? What???

Seems like a hell of a project when you could get a really decent C6 for the amount of $$ you're about to invest in this project.

In any case, keep us posted on your progress.

For the record, I owned a C5 and now a C6 and while the C5 was a great car, the C6 is superior in almost every way, as far as I'm concerned. But what do I know?

Good luck!

Seems to me the crux of your problem is there are no fast street cars where you live. It looks like it would be a lot easier & cheaper to move to a place that has just what your looking for.

Its like people who are starving in third world countries cause there's no food their. Well just move to where the food is.

We have deserts here but nobody lives in them, see same premise.

No fast steet car in the 2 country i drag race... RIGHT
But, just a 600 miles from where i live, you can see some crazy fast street car like this VW Golf II who is in the 8 on street tire !!!
[http="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KYo0A9iVAM"][/http]

FYI : A lot easier & cheaper to drag race in Europe with a VW or a Fiat, no need to go to US for be able to hit 8s !

I was thinking that you will be proud to see some "old continent" guys who glory the V8, the US spirit, the Corvette... Have i do a mistake ?

It's exactly why, 5 years ago, i chose a C5 for DD

But... now... in 2013... after renting 4 or 5 time the ZHZ C6 corvette (2 time a vert and coupe the other time) and drove +6000 miles... and when the C7 arrive... and also since it's possible to buy the LS7 engine with a removable roof or a cab... choice is more difficult !

Thanks for the good luck !

Here's some pictures that I've found of C5 conversions to C6 bodies.

Here's a C5 ZO6 with an ACP World Challenge body

Here's a 1998 Coupe with a base C6 body that isn't fully done.

Man, some of you guys are just plain mean.

The guy's overseas representing a US sports car that we all love, and he building a race car from the ground up with all Corvette parts...

I say kudos to him!
