Crow, we understand your frustration. I hope your days get better. Cant wait to see your car in its finished state.

As you know from my IM's, your avatar gets 2 thumbs up from me.

The police looked for a month and could not find him so I hired a PI and he found the kid in two days. He is 18 years old and has a criminal record, the truck he was driving was insured. As for the legal side of it I do not know what they are doing yet as I have not heard frothe DA.

If the kid would have shown some kind of remorse I would have been inclined to cut him some slack. We all made stupid choice at that age and I would hate to see his life ruined at such a young age. The Christian in me wants to forgive him and hope he just made a bad decision at the spur of the moment. From what I have been told he could not care less and his parents are the same way. I wish none of this would have happened but at the same time I am greatful for the awakening, I am a better father, husband and friend because of it. It can all end in a split second so take the time play Legos, or tea Party, the world will be there when you are done.

I hate to say this but he needs to feel some consequences for his actions. He could have killed you. How is he going to learn if he walks away with no repercussions. He will probably get a slap on the wrist anyway.

Between Crow's and need-for-speed's avatar choices, the more offensive one is not necessarily Crow's.

(rest of you guys can live with a little bit of Texas banter, I'm sure … )

Dont confuse my compassion for weakness. While working on my degree I was a correctional officer for 5 years. The last two years I worked on the Exicution team, and was there for Carla Faye Tucker's. This kid will pay for what he did, I just hope it changes him for the better not the worse. I did stupid stuff at that age that could have got me in trouble like drinking and driving, street racing, etc but I was lucky. I hope the whole thing scared him strait.

I FREAKING DID IT!!!!!

I am not a Corvette Forum expert so cut me some slack for taking so long.

I was tired of hearing the greif over my Avatar and wanted to change it but could not figure out what the issue was. I was changing my profile picture not my Avatar picture. anyway enjoy a picture of Buddy the wonder dog.

Crowhater, you seem like a good guy, not only willing to be magnanimous about a driver who almost killed you, but also willing to be flexible to accommodate other people's feelings. I wish we had a few hundred politicians like you in DC, people who could try to see the other side of an issue even if they don't necessarily agree with it.

Well done!

Love the dog pic! Hope everyone's all better now.

Interesting how the same people who whine about tolerance and diversity are the first to demand censorship of any views unlike their own.

Back on track. Looks like the build is coming along nicely, you really made the most of a bad situation. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, this thread has a double happy ending: the car owner is on the road to recovery, and the car is, too, and both will soon be on the road to wherever they want to drive.

I especially enjoyed Crowhater's post about how the accident put things in perspective for him, and made him cherish time with his loved ones. That post made me give my two boys an extra hug, and made me go out to the garage and give the C6 a smile.

Keep those photos coming!

(Now if I just knew why he hates crows!) :-)

If you do a search on the web you will see there are whole sites about crow hunting. When I was a kid I would get paid for shooting crows that where in the garden. Crows are very smart birds and you had better real sneaky if you plan on killing more than the first one.

Reading what you said about giving your boys an extra hug put a smile on my face from ear to ear. Thank you

So sad to see we live in a country where in the truest sence of a Liberal Democrat, where they can come into a thread about cars and impose their dislike for something as trivial as an avitar, and tell the OP he needs to change it because he disagrees with it, which is so typical of Liberal Socialists Democrats to tell everyone else what they should and should not do because they don't think anyone is smart enough to think for themselves and they need to impose their will since they know what everyone else should be doing or not doing.

Vertigogo,

Well, I am sooo glad you see it this way. And of course this is not related to politics, especially since you think it this is not a place to talk about, or stand up for, our country. I'm sure we all are so thankful you came to our rescue of what to think about which avitars are acceptable; I for one sure the heck am glad you came to help. I'm going to need your advice on bumper stickers later please.

So please change your avitar as it is sooo offensive as it relates to and propigates physical violence, fighting and killing, and that awful sword that is used for killing and cutting off heads. Thank you in advance for deleting your offensive avitar.

Thank you for your mutual cooperation in your stand against offensive avitars.
