Default Sad

We all need to be careful. Keep us posted as to what happened so we don't repeat it. Our thoughts and prayers go out to both of them.

I agree we all do have to be careful out there. I wonder how old the driver was?

sad. He was 30 and his wife is 29. Looks like they have 2 kids under the age of 3. From looking at the accident scene my guess is speed around a corner and he just lost it. Took out a couple of trees. Almost identical to the paul waker crash. It was a 1990 vette. I didn't know what year when posting this. Guess it doesn't matter.

i consider myself a very skilled experience driver having owned/driven numerous sports cars and muscle cars all means of power in excess of 900hp.. Even having that under my belt I do NOT take my C6 out of competition driving mode.. For the simple fact that experience has taught me that even though i am a good judge of my surroundings and situational driving, i don't think i could outthink the the brains of the stability control computer.. RIP young man.. Hopefully they have a good family support structure and the mother pulls through.

Bummer. Alton is only 40 minutes away, and the Great River Road is perfect for a lazy cruise, especially when it's up toward Pere Marquette State Park. Great scenery. It's very curvy, and can be a load of fun. Sounds like too much fun in this circumstance. Glad at least the wife survived.

Ugh! Hate to see these kinds of stories. Your life can change or end in a second.

People are killed unfortunately every day of the year in car accidents, not sure why we have to post the Vette ones like they are a very special loss over all the others.

That is a four lane divided highway at that point with a 55 MPH speed limit. It is very flat and the curves are gradual enough that a loaded semi could easily negotiate them at 55.
