"In honor of jpee"
I agree we all do have to be careful out there. I wonder how old the driver was?

sad. He was 30 and his wife is 29. Looks like they have 2 kids under the age of 3. From looking at the accident scene my guess is speed around a corner and he just lost it. Took out a couple of trees. Almost identical to the paul waker crash. It was a 1990 vette. I didn't know what year when posting this. Guess it doesn't matter.

Bummer. Alton is only 40 minutes away, and the Great River Road is perfect for a lazy cruise, especially when it's up toward Pere Marquette State Park. Great scenery. It's very curvy, and can be a load of fun. Sounds like too much fun in this circumstance. Glad at least the wife survived.

People are killed unfortunately every day of the year in car accidents, not sure why we have to post the Vette ones like they are a very special loss over all the others.

That is a four lane divided highway at that point with a 55 MPH speed limit. It is very flat and the curves are gradual enough that a loaded semi could easily negotiate them at 55.
