I have a 2013 427, and it is beyond exhilarating. I think the problem with a lot of test magazines, they spend a day in a car, and never have to live with one. And then, their bias is, exotic mega cars, 458 Italia, Lamborghini Aventador, 911 turbo S, etc. They forget the Corvette is a working man's car, and not an exotic.
I love my 427, and it has shortcomings, but everyone, of all ages stares at it constantly. I think the C7 will be a fine car, but quit downplaying the C6, it set several initial Nurburgring run records, and finally a 7:18 run for 2012. The corvette is my true love in cars, but give it a break.
Did I say I whomped a Nissan GTR yesterday!!!!

I love my C6!! I'm sure the C7 is going to be a great car and probably the best base Corvette ever. That being said, try as I might to like it, I just can't get over the looks of it!! I HATE the chrome strip running right through the middle of the front grill, the crazy protruding line down towards the bottom on the sides and the whole rear!! I love it looking down on it from directly overhead and I'm so-so on the interior. I've never felt that way towards any other Corvette. I love the looks of all of them, even the C4. The C7 makes me think of Japanese Anime with all of the crazy lines in it.

C6 of Year Finalist (performance mods) 2019
There are no C7 guys yet. Maybe a few wannabees, but no owners. If the C6 guys don't post in the C7 forum and neither do the C1-C5 guys, then the C7 forum would be empty.

I have seen a few GTR's get stomped by a few C6's at the half mile events................but not the modded GTR's.
Please do your homework before making such statements that all GTR's are unbeatable

No one said they were unbeatable, but they have been known to beat a few Vettes along with many others.

I was going to say the same....at this point there are no C7 guys. Be self-assured about your C6. There are pros and cons to every car and as improved as the C7 might be it does not diminish the C6 (nor our love and appreciation for the car). I learned many valuable lessons road racing my C6....there are all kinds of fast cars; there's always someone faster; and, at the end of an event I'm glad I'm driving my Corvette. Irrespective of the C7 the C6 is and will remain a terrific Corvette!

Please actually read what's written before posting an ad-hominem deflection. No one claimed GTR's were unbeatable. Furthermore, no one mentioned anything about a 427 Convertible racing a GTR in a half mile event-- and no mention of stock vs. modded was ever posted. We were simply stating that the claimed "I stomped a GTR" was difficult to believe under what can only be assumed is a street race circumstance involving un-modded cars without any details to support the aforementioned claim. Under these operative assumptions, also, were this a "light to light" race, the 427 Convertible would stand no chance whatsoever. However, this is all speculative, so we're simply requesting more details because inquiring minds want to know. Highway Roll? I'd be more inclined to believe. 1/4 Mile race track? It's becoming more difficult to support the OP's claim. etc.
