I have learned the hard way to never turn your back to black angus! Should have known better to get between her and her calf. She damn near killed me.

If you attend car shows and local get togethers long enough, you will come across some pretty puffed up folks. These pompous bafoons can own any generation of Vette but they all share a common trait, unless they are talking about themselves or their car they are unhappy.
Sometimes I come across a C3 Chrome bumper guy that thinks they stopped making Vettes after 1972. These elitest attitudes are silly.
Aholes can own anything. unfortunately an Ahole with a nice ride can be extremely annoying.

Army enlisted here. E6 for now(I'm promotable). Had lots cars to include a G8 that made 500whp with spray. Bolt on 2011 5.0 that ran 11.4 then a sc 2012 5.0 that ran 10.3@134 at 640whp. Turned it up to 713whp but never got chance to take to track. But I always wanted a C6 vette since they came out. Well now I have one as a DD. Its got some mods and I love it.

I am 69 and a retired educator. I waited and dreamed about vettes for 45 years until I got my first one a new 03 C5. Then 10 years later I traded it in for my 13 C6. I worked many extra jobs to keep the family going, 4 kids through college, 3 daughters weddings, new house in 01. Finally in 03 when I retired the school board buys out our sick days and mine turned into a torch red 03 vette.
I haven't had your experience, but I get the you must be rich to drive that car as I gas it up. Then we compare MPG and they do not know what to say, total shock. I love it!

Awesome replies! One thing I can say is I've never once been a jelous person or cared at all for what you may have that I don't rather. If someone has something I like I'm gonna tell you its bada$$! I hated when my own friends acted like they didn't care anything about my new to me C6 ya know!? It's like when someone I know gets something cool I check it out and tell them how great it is and what I like and congrats. I wish some people didn't look at life as a competition to one another, but life if a competition for yourself. You prove yourself to you! Kind of off track but after reading all the posts this brings me to my summary.

Yeah, at 55 I just bought my first Vette as well,,, I regret having to admit it's a Garage Queen... I rarely get it out because I'm a working class stiff! No Time and 6 cars in the driveway to move in order to get it out, I feel like a porter at a car dealership when I get it out because I have to jockey everything around just to get my C6 out. Wow I love that car! My '03 Accord with 211,000 miles is my daily driver and yes it's at the bottom of the driveway.

Thank goodness there are so many average and hardworking people on here. Even if some are above average, it's nice to think that they're humble enough to know how to act.
To all the posters who thought, or have received poor and rude treatment, I agree that it's just rude and poorly-brought up people. Just ignore their jerk responses and statements.

I was 54 when I bought my first 'Vette. I've worked since the age of 12, got my first rattle trap old Chevy with a three on the tree when I was sixteen and over the next 30 years bought nothing but stripped cars when I could afford to buy new. One day I was finally in the position to buy my C6 base coupe, not a GS, or Z0 or ZR, just the base car which is good enough for me. BTW, I go out to the garage some days and just stare at her....

I'm your average Joe who @ 57 who is BLESSED to have a good paying job and a great family to boot.I've spent the last 35 years busting my butt to provide a good life for my wife and kids by working swing shifts and double shifts my entire career.I've met a few people like the OP described and just smile and walk away when they act like they are better than anyone else.I like all kinds of cars and don't shun any ones ride even if it's not my cup of tea .I go to a lot of car shows and Cruise Ins and rarely see this type of behavior because they respect each others rides.

That stuff happens to me all the time. I love driving my vette to work, I own a small deli and always park it in front so I can admire it . Anyways after close, I sometimes go to the gas station or to the store to pick few things up. Sometimes as I pull in, people stare at my car but when I walk out, they usually give me the look like I'm driving my daddies car or something. I'm 28 and usually smell like food and aren't dressed "fancy" lol

I'm joe lunchbox, recently retired Trauma RN. Bought a used C6 for the wife, life long dream. Daily uniform is shorts and Cabelas fishing shirt with flip flops. God Bless Corvette owners, snobs can congregate and die together.

Former Vendor
My day job is working in the oil field and before that was in shipyards. The folks that give me the most crap is due to my age. I'm 32 now and on my 3rd vette and about to get my 4th. When I am out and about at car shows and such most can't believe I own the car and secondly can't believe I know more about their corvettes than they do.

Well, I'm a pretty stellar individual and you're actually pretty lucky to stand near me, let alone be acknowledged. Anyone that knows anything is aware that the last real Vette was made in 1967(in honor of my birth). At least it was until I bought a 2013 Grand Sport just a few weeks ago. I hope to see you guys out on the road...well, more like getting out of my way out on the road.
Especially you base model buyers....ughh!
PS - It's really considerate of GM to make Z's so you guys can compensate for the, umm, shortcomings.
(Did I miss anyone?)

Not having scratched my way to the C-6 level I have certainly viewed the egos in the ownership category. To many its " I have finally arrived ... look at me ". A lot of experts, money, and bragging will surround the " show & tell " aspect well into the future.
