Please help soonest fellow Corvette freinds
2 days ago I was rear ended in 3 month old 2013 coupe, I wish I knew how to post pictures, but the right side of the bumper is smashed as she push me then went down the right rear quarter panel cracking it...NO body shop yet here in Jacksonville will replace the quarter panel, my insurance GEICO only wants to repair the rear bumper and rear quarter panel and not remove them...they rear is push in atleast an inch and the quarter panel sticks out where the crack is an inch or more...they all say the quarter panel is glue/welded to the frame?? I have heard on here it is screwed...but cannot after 6 hours of searching find a good link on how to remove the quarter panel, I found on for the rear bumper..the lady that hit me was Uninsured, not her vehicle and the vehicle was Uninsured and had not had legal license plates in 11 years, and the cop still let her drive the car away...I am in allot of pain, but will survive couldn't even get back in my car to drive yet, knee to swollen from the brake pedal. Thanks please no jokes just some honest help to show the body they can take my quarter panel off with the screws...thanks....

Buy a replacement quarter panel and rear fascia and have them painted and screwed on.GM PARTSHOUSE probably has all you need. Open your rear hatch and the screws are right there.

The only part glued on is the rocker panel/door frame. The rest of the panels are screwed on. Get a new adjuster or body shop that knows what they are talking about...

As a person who spent 35 years of his life in the property lines claims business, I can tell you this is the best advice you're going to get.
Don't waste your energy trying to decide how parts are to be replaced, or even thinking about doing anything yourself.
Spend your time doing research to find the very best auto body repair shop in your area. You may even find that the shop is recommended by GEICO, and other carriers as well. A shop you can feel comfortable with. Let them deal with GEICO, obtain an agreed price for you, and move ahead with the repairs.
Nothing more for you to do but pay your deductible, and go back to enjoying your car.

Run don't walk away from that shop. If they do not know that about a Corvette they have obviously never worked on one. Get your car out of there asap.

The information on how to take all the panels off is in this attachment.
Bottom line all the fenders plus the front and rear fascia are bolt on. Simple to remove.
There are a lot of places in and around Jax that do good Corvette body work. Contact the Jacksonville Corvette Club.

wreck vette update
Thanks again to everyone, I feel more comforable with knowing how to ask the right question...I will find a new place this week. I read the article about the fenders and looks like its a no brainer, now I am more knowledgeable about my dream car and soon it will be brand new again with new peices no mud and fill...even if I have to buy the panels. Thanks.
