RPI Splash Guards thoughts and issues
Hello all from post yesterday you know I was going to install the RPI Splashguards on my Grandsport. This post is NOT meants as a BASH to RPI, I will call them Monday to see if we can resolve this and update this thread with what happens.
I did install them and I must tell you am VERY DISAPPOINTED in them.
Passenger side I had to file down in few places as the mold drip dried which was very jagged and sharp.
It does not fit well at the top, sticks out and you can see where I had to file it.
Here pic of filed area around edge and underneath and hard to see but sticks out at least 1/4":
Here is the drivers side. No filing no anything had to be done and the top was perfect it all fit at the perfectly and along except here towards the bottom. I haven't messed with the screws etc and am bit hesitant to as I cant see how doing that will affect this.
The gap at curve on drivers side:
I would say in all it took me and my buddy about an hour and we are both car guys very particular with assembly etc.
I do plan to call and discuss with RPI see what if anything can be done if nothing not sure I will keep them on car. They just look like they do not fit right.
Am I in the minority here , or did I do something wrong in install?
Thoughts please thanks!

RPI is one of the better vendors it will be interesting to see how they handle your issues. Keep us posted.

I tried a set of APSIS (cost more) and they fit perfect. Did not like the look and sold them pretty quick. I have read similar posts about other products that RPI sells that had fit problems. Hopefully a quick phone call will resolve your problem.

The RPI splash gaurds fit perfectly on my 13 GS convertible. I have done a lot of fiberglass work.....built my own RV6-A experimental aircraft and can tell you every once in while a piece will just seem to warp for what ever reason.
That being said: "Josh will make it right."
