Default Way to add aux or iPod to base radio in 06?

I've searched the threads but all the solutions I've found are for either a car with xm or the touch screen nav. My car has the stock radio and no xm. Is there a way to splice into where the xm module would connect or at the back of the stock HEADUNIT? I'm not scared to do a little splicing and soldering if need be.

I have the exact same as you. Got an isimple from Dennis @ DoubleDMods. It's plug-n-play. Works great on mine.

Default tune

ISIMPLE works great and then add the ISBT21 for excellent blue tooth as well. The BT works so good I dont even use the IPOD any more, I just stream music from my Iphone music

I bought a used XM/sirus box on ebay. The wiring was already there, I just needed to find it. Then I purchased The AUX-1 harness and had a dealer reprogram the headunit to allow it to switch to XM channels.

I have since installed a tablet into the car, so my set up not being used. I guess I should get around to selling it. PM me if you want it before I get around to putting it up on the for sale section. It was working with the 6 disk headunit in my 05.

I think it costs ~$100 plus. I am not sure how the iSimple works, so for a little more money, it may be easier to set up. In either case, you will need to pay a dealer (or someone with Tech 2) to turn on the XM option on the headunit.

I bought a used head unit with a Aux input from a 2008 C6 on this board for about $45.00. Then I took it to the dealer here in Santa Rosa. The dealer charged me $100.00 to remove my old head unit, reprogram and reinstall the used head unit. Total $145.00 for me was a great deal.
