Is C6 a timeless design?

The whole topic is extremely subjective. As the saying goes "beauty is in the eye of the key (fob) holder".
I was a very young man when I bought my first Corvette (still in college). It was during the C4 run and I did not like the C4 and still do not. I bought a 1972 Stingray.
I sold it and the C5 came out. I looked them over and drove a couple and "meh" was my take. I was neutral on it and for that money at the time I would have to really like it if not love it... and I didn't. It was just "OK" in my book.
Then the C6 came out. I continued modding and racing 4th Gen Camaros - because they beat the hide out of the Mustang and were some of the best bang for the buck out there (won that moniker in Motor Trend analysis too). But I began paying attention to Corvettes a lot more... the C6 seemed like Chevy had gotten it right again. Eventually the Corvette bug came back... with a vengeance!
Current stable includes a 2011 ZR1, 2012 ZO6 and a 2012 GS. Do I love the C6? Take a guess.
The C7 is very cutting edge, very dramatic, almost futuristic compared with the C6. Time and sales will tell if the styling is "gimmicky" or a true home run. It will be interesting to see.

Don't know about timeless, but IMO it will age very well. Particularly the GS/Z/ZR.

Except IMO, the C5 brought more than a "meh" to the general public including myself.
This design was a real break from the (apologies to our friends C4 owners) boring 80's design (or lack thereof) of the C4, and a huge step towards the perfection reached with the C6 .
Not to mention Corvette's return to racing Le Mans with the C5!

Both my daughters are paying their FICA taxes, and unfortunately, both are convinced they'll never see a dime of it, but they will.

I still remember to this day paying $3000 for the whole shebang with printer and monitor, and about half a meg!
Today I make a living working on one (as most people do), and I have the luxury of being able to switch back and forth from the work tabs, to the "not work" tabs, without disrupting my workflow.
I'm good like that.
Now back to the studio and the C6 design original programing!

IMHO the 63 split window is timeless.

Just try Windows 8. No more multitasking as the OS runs apps full screen. Terrible.
Get Start Menu Reviver and stay on the desktop side of things.
I built computers in 1993-1998 and built 286,386,486,and Pentium boxes. Some had only 2MB RAM and my first computer came with 16K and my mom was very proud of that. Times change but I still miss loading a program from a cassette tape some times.

Funny thing is I was resistant to the PC technology at first, not seeing the necessity at all. My wife had to force the purchase of our first computer upon me, back in the early 90's...

I've had my '82 since '91 and even before I got it painted I loved the lines. I also had a '94 C4 and loved it. More fun that the law allows. If won the lottery I'd have a '67 and a '72 to add to my stable. But the C6 GS to me is pure sex appeal. I was really interested in the C5 and studied up on it even reading 'All Corvettes are Red' but I really had problems with the rear end. I almost bought a Z06 because I really liked the coupe roof line vs. the hatch and to me the butt dit look doesn't big on that model. So when the opportunity came along I got my C6. After saying all that I cannot say the C7 will trump the looks of the C6. Time will tell of course and to me there is no sex appeal to the new car. To each his own....

You sound like you remember the TRS-80 days, ha!
Now, where were we....oh yeah, the C6 is a classic timeless design, yeah.

I also build all my own computers for myself and family.

I disagree...Social Security down the road, will continue to be viable, albeit transformed in many ways.

Now there's a car that holds horrible memories for me. My dad bought a new 1959 Chevy Bel-Air in the fall of 1959. I begged him to order the Impala, and the 283 cu in. V8, and the full wheel covers, and white wall tires. He refused, saying all that stuff is just a waste of money, the Bel-Air 6 cyl. was all he needed. "It's the same car, without all that fancy stuff." ...he said. All those options would have cost about $600.00 but that was a lot of money for my dad in those days.
I was about 16 at the time, and so I always used my dad's car for dates, etc. What a pig that thing was. A 6 cyl. engine with about 130 hp bolted to a 2 speed Power Glide transmission!!! A heavy load of iron, that took 25 seconds to go from 0 to 60...Yes, not a typo, I used to time that load...25 seconds! It got about 3 miles to the gallon less than the 283, because you had to drive around with the gas pedal to the floor all the time!
It couldn't get any less cool with black wall tires, and 1/2 hub caps, and a trimless 4dr sedan Bel-Air. I was embarrassed to be seen in that tank. Freakin' hated that car!
Thanks, I feel better now.
